Your starter absolutely should be replaced. That is exactly what happened to my Jeep an number of years ago and a new starter cured the problem.

I'm pulling the 4.0 out of my Jeep, but I've hit a snag. I am looking to borrow a cherry picker/engine crane from a Member here. I am willing to kick some cash in for use of one. I am trying to avoid buying one or renting one from a rental place because of cost. I'm located in Tacoma, WA. Thanks.

For clarification, this Jeep is a DD for me. I cannot remember the last time I was on a trail. It sees the street and pulls trailers.
