Hello all... I have a weird problem that has been going on for a couple years now... It only happens in the summertime, and usually when towing... When the engine temp reaches approx 220 degrees (well below overheating) the engine will shut down and will not start again until it cools down below...

Thanks for the replies guys... I knew it was not a cooling system overheating issue, but I only get the issue when the engine temps climb above 210 (cooling system is fine but something does not like the heat)... I put a new CPS on it about 3 years ago, but I will definately try cooling it off...

I have ran many tires on my jeep in the past 9 years (1997 XJ Sport 3" lift)... I put MTRs on it when I first lifted it, awesome off road but crap on the road 13,000 miles... Hey guys, hope someone can give me a hand here... My 97 XJ 4.0 auto stalls (completely dies, no warning just dies no rough idle, hesitation etc dies) when I am sitting in stop & go traffic and the temp gets a few degrees above normal... When it dies, the temp is just slightly above 210, its not...

Yes the 2 above replies are correct... All were 5 on 4.5", and 15X7.... Also as stated in another post YJ, XJ and some liberty rims will fit... I currently have 16X8 moabs on mine off a Rubicon...

16" wheel fit fine... I'm running 16X8 moabs off an 02 rubicon on my 97 XJ with 265/75 16 General Grabbers mounted on them (Basically a 32/10.50)... The only issue is that the Rubicon wheels have 5" backspacing, mine rub just a tad at full lock both ways... I have a set of billet 1" wheel...

Just installed a new NSS a month ago and a CPS about 6 months ago... I rebuilt the NSS a few times, and it just kept getting worse so I replaced it... I have also been thinking the starter as some have suggested, the only if I have is why does it start fine if short the posts with a screw...
