I'll throw in my $0.02 since I haven't chimed in for quite a while.
I put a Lock-rite in my '94 ChrCo 8.25 w/ 27 spline axles. Truly, this was an easy task. Compared to putting my Cheap Bastards Club lift kit in with all of the XJ's 10 years of rust :smsoap:, this was a rewarding experience...
Well, I resolved my overheating issue. I replaced the fan clutch and the tstat. I also rebalanced the coolant mixture ratio. I did the fan clutch first, but that did not resolve the problem. After I replaced the tstat and adjusted the coolant ratio it was all good.
The lesson learned here is...
Thnx to all who posted. I will replace the fan clutch and Tstat/gasket in the next couple of days. I'll post the results.
On another note, I've wanted to replace the idiot lights and stupid gas/speedo cluster since I bought this heap. I always assumed it'd be a royal PITA, but a quick search...
I did not replace the hoses at all. They look intact to me. The lower hose does have the spring and is not collapsing from suction. There is no significant bloating of the other hoses either.
I guess I don't know how to fully burp it. Since this is an open system, I was under the impression...
Alright, I've been using the FSM to try and get me through this, but I just can't put my finger on it.
Cheesy overheating lamp coming on (no guage).
Here's the stats:

March of 2001 the radiator was replaced with a Hotline radiator ( I dunno ).
New water pump
New belt...
Just think about a 12.5" vs 10.5" wide tire. There is more rubber. This means more spinning mass. At a given speed, which tire do you think it would take more energy to bring to a stop. The one with more mass of course. This implies that you would have to brake harder to stop in the same...
I've had the problem whereby my rear right drum would lock up the tire. This particular phenomenon only occured under specific conditions. There has to have been moisture on the ground, and the vehicle must have been sitting for at least an hour or more. Once I start out down the road and ever...
Just following up. Once I dremeled and wrenched out the old seal, I took the extension housing and new seal to a local garage. $1 later I had the new seal pressed into the fitting instead of beating it into submission with a block of wood and the good ole BFH.
Cheers
the NP231 extension housing. I've dropped the drive shaft. I've unbolted the extension housing and have it on the bench. The rear seal is obviously pressed in there. I've managed to beat it up with a bit. I can probably manage to get it out using the strong arm approach, but the real problem...
I don't know if this helps, but I had trouble removing my tracbar mount as well so that I could put on a Rusty's HD mount. Check out the thread.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining. I'm glad to have access to this forum at all. It's been very useful for me. It would simply be nice if we could see a list of changes that have been made since the SW upgrade.
Thus far, for non-members, no uploaded avatars, no sig. What else?
