When I did my 96, I found a set of torx wrenches (same shape as normal allen wrenches) and that fit perfect. I picked them up at o'rilley auto parts for $10. I was able to slip a pipe over the end of it and had perfect leverage. I tried the sockets but fidling with the right wrench was a pain...

OK. replaced the coil wire - now it WANTS to start, stubles a bit, but it never catches. Is that a CPS problem?

Yup - the CPS isconnected - I even checked the voltage - as I saw in another post - it's good. I pulled the plug off the coil - kind of corroded. going to get a new one. Be back soon - anyone with anyother thoughts - let me know. thx

I still have two of the big bolts on. I did check the bits with the other one I got out. The larger size looks like it will fit, but the e12 is tight. I can't get either on there now. I might cut need to cut the access panel - hadn't thought of that.

Try checking it after you've been driving and the engine is warm - the heat in the engine compartment should help and may keep the plastic cap from breaking.

Yea - it'll be in the same spot. When mine went out I was able to baby it around for a while until I figured out what the problem was and picked up a replacement. They do sell a rebuild kit for it, but I opted for a new part just so I wouldn't screw it up. The rebuild kit was much less but...

for my 96, it's on the top of the firewall and was easy to replace. 2 bolts holding it and the line to the slave. Bleeding it is a 2 person job though. If you have a repair guide (ie haynes or chiltons) you'll have no problems good luck
