Nasty oil leak at the filter adapter

When I did my 96, I found a set of torx wrenches (same shape as normal allen wrenches) and that fit perfect. I picked them up at o'rilley auto parts for $10. I was able to slip a pipe over the end of it and had perfect leverage. I tried the sockets but fidling with the right wrench was a pain...

Clutch job advice needed - rounded bolt

OK. I finished the clutch job - that bolt was a PITA. I used a dremel EZ lock 1-1/2" cutting wheel on the end of a flex shaft - cut through it and ground down the shoulder. I was then able to remove the remaining bolts and slip the housing right over the bolt. Those grinding wheels did a...

replaced clutch - now won't start - HELP

96, 5-spd OK. I replaced the clutch and tightened everything back up - lowered it off the stands, and went to take it for a test spin. NO start. Getting fuel to the rail, checked the cap & rotor - OK. It turns over but it never sounds like it wants to run. I even tried to bump start it -...

Clutch job advice needed - rounded bolt

I still have two of the big bolts on. I did check the bits with the other one I got out. The larger size looks like it will fit, but the e12 is tight. I can't get either on there now. I might cut need to cut the access panel - hadn't thought of that.

    Clutch help

Try checking it after you've been driving and the engine is warm - the heat in the engine compartment should help and may keep the plastic cap from breaking.

    Clutch help

Yea - it'll be in the same spot. When mine went out I was able to baby it around for a while until I figured out what the problem was and picked up a replacement. They do sell a rebuild kit for it, but I opted for a new part just so I wouldn't screw it up. The rebuild kit was much less but...

thanks photographermike. I do have a jack under the engine too. Big Hank - I'll give the vice grips a shot - I've really got nothing to lose if it doesn't work.

    Clutch help

for my 96, it's on the top of the firewall and was easy to replace. 2 bolts holding it and the line to the slave. Bleeding it is a 2 person job though. If you have a repair guide (ie haynes or chiltons) you'll have no problems good luck

    Clutch help

I would check your clutch master cylinder. Look for fluid leaking on the firewall on the driver side. Same thing happened to me 3 years ago. I replaced it and have been good since. Acutally - won't be any fluid on the firewall. The gasket inside the master is probably worn and is letting the...

    Aussie O2 cleaning trick?

Emry cloth should help. My wife's camry had a check engine light I couldn't fix. I put a bunch of money in parts into it - the last thing i did was check the thermocouple on the EGR system. (becuase it was $$) I pulled it out and tested it - seemed fine, but it had a bunch of carbon build...

Clutch job advice needed - rounded bolt

96, 5 spd, 2wd, 130,000 My clutch went out the other day - I'm pretty sure it's the TO so I had it towed home and I picked up a clutch kit. I have the rear on ramps, have removed the trany cross brace etc, and have a jack under the tranny. I have it lowered and am accessing the two E12 bolts...
