Build a stroker now and try to keep the compression ratio fairly low. I'd say right around 9-9.5:1 That way you have no problems running regular fuel and driving around at all when you are done. And later no problems running a turbo system with moderate boost pressures...
Just picked up my 97 sport last week with 103k on the clock for $1500 and drove it an hour home. Only issue is the fuel gauge keeps going from where it is supposed to be to empty and back again when you hit a bump. And even only has a couple tiny surface rust spots in MN!
