    Mechanics in Lawrence, KS?

is your exhaust up against your front driveshaft? we ran into that yesterday with a friend's XJ that we put a 3 inch lift on. The driveline angle made the exhaust line up with the axle.

    replacing front hubs

we didn't have all the fancy tools, when we pulled my buddy's hubs, I sent him to the hardware store to buy a bolt just a little longer than the original three that hold the hub in place, and we would thread that all the way to the end of the threads on the hub. Then we just beat the heck out of...

    brakes when cold or wet.

HyJack.. I have brake problems also, and thought I would add to an existing thread. Before going to Colorado mountains a few months ago, I replaced the discs on front and put on new pads, after being out in Co. for a few days, my front end started to grab like there was a gear binding up, or...

    Starter bolts

While out in Colorado last week, it seems I lost a bolt out of my starter, does anyone know if I will have to go to Jeep directly, or would you think that the car parts stores would carry something like that? I need them both, because one is now gone, and the other is loose, I reckon it could be...

    Installing a CB

If there is already a post, just guide me there, but my search ended in misery. I have a 93 xj, and I am trying to decide where to mount my CB, it is a rather large one. It is an older Cobra. Any suggestions? Where did put yours?

Popping coming f/front end when wheels turned?

I also fought this problem, had my brother turn the wheels back and forth and saw that the track bar mount was sliding back and forth, I pulled both bolts out, shined them up with a wire brush, and tightened them with locktite, in hind site, I should have gone and got some heavier bolts, and...

    travel trailer towing.

Working with what you are telling me, you are thinking that i am too high geared if I am reading you correctly. Just so happens that I was sold another set of rims and tires to fit on the xj, but someone talked me out of the tires. So now I have the option of putting a lower profile tire on...

    travel trailer towing.

My wife and I are considering a 3,500 lb travel trailer which we will likely use twice/year due to busy work schedule. we will pull it about 200 miles round trip I have searched the forums, but I don't find the specifics I am looking for. I have a 93 4.0L 3:27 gears 31 inch tires, 3 inch lift...

    Brake shoe question.

Question... I bought new brake shoes for the rear of the eep from O'reilly's and brought the drums in to have them measure them to see if they are still within tolerance. They said that they were just at, but they said if they turn them, then that would make them throw aways. I borrowed their...

hand throttle [while keeping existing throttle]

I have never found it to be the reason I over-revved the engine, there is actually just the right amount of resistance on the lever that it isn't real touchy, plus once you get used to it, you can gain excellent control of your motor speeds. Also great for Cruise control.. well on a flat road...
