5-90 is the man, this helped a lot. When I was cleaning things up I noted on the vaccuum line harness that you have 3 colors. Yellow, Green, and Blue. The Green applies vaccuum for 2wd and the Yellow for 4wd and the sensor for the dash light. The Blue for some reason on my rig was applying...
Searched but couldn't find exactly what I am experiencing so any help would be good. The hubs in my 89 are stuck in the locked position as if I were in 4wd. The dash light is on as well. If I disconnect the vacuum lines the hubs remain locked. Does this mean the fork in the axle is broken...
Time to replace the control arms and bushings. As I searched through the threads, the consensus to get the new UCA Axle bushings in is to use a Harbor Freight ball joint press. Does anyone know where I can pick one of those up, someone said they were only $40?
And, I am just planning on using...
I run a modified chevy 350 in my XJ on mounts that I got from Advanced Adapters. They are strong as hell and fit the motor in there.
I'm not sure I would go this route. I looked into it before I did my swap. Actually parts to make this work are harder to find plus the 360 stock is actually...
I had the same problem when I swapped in my 44. Just an FYI I had 2 inches of drop on my tcase and that didn't help. I think axle shims are the only solution.
I have to disagree with that statement. 1. BP bumpers kick ass, I have tried many and this is the one I stuck with. 2. I don't think you can get away for less than that on a custom job with current steel prices on the rise. If you did, I would be inclined to think you are getting a pretty...
What condition are those Baja Claws in? If you do any significant amount of driving on the highway I would drop those things and get some BFGs. Everyone I know that runs tires like that at that size start having wearing and handling problems about half way through the tread life. just my $0.02.
I can't give you exact measurements, but if you just make the existing hole large enough for 6 1/2 they will fit in fine. I have 6 1/2 in mine. The hole is essentially directly under the vent window so it won't interfere with the operation of the main window. Ooops, I guess I am assuming you...
Still the funniest s**t I have ever heard. Make sure you take a leak before you start the job.
On a real note that applies to the thread: I had some pretty significant rust in several spots when I did mine and after sanding and hurculining the rust has stopped. Even though my carpet still...
I run a Surco Safari rack bolted on to 58 inch Yakima bars in the same fashion you are describing. Plenty tough. I can get on my roof and stand in my basket no problem.
