    Overheating final boss

My experience with my 90 over 33 years is that it takes multiple burps to get the air out. It's now a 4.1, with a 11-1 compression ported HO head, Hesco cam, Hesco water pump, bored T-body, Mopar headers, 2.5 inch exhaust pushing a heavy beast on 35's at 6k feet and above. The only time I needed...

Larger Throttle Body - Effect on Throttle

I have a 90 so they are very different. I had Mopar headers and a 2.5 inch exhaust installed early on, I've had it since 92. The exhaust didn't make a whole lot of difference. I live at 6k feet, so the beast always ran rich. I had the throttle body bored, actually the same as an HO T body, and...

    Frame Crack? and options

I have Hooligans, all the stiffeners, the crossmember, and front installed. I like them, they are a small shop, and local in CO.

    Frame Crack? and options

Do the frame stiffeners, and a upgraded spacer. You'll need it eventually. I have them, and a cross over stiffener that no one makes anymore, a winch bumper, rock rails, and roll cage, the beast doesn't bend much. I can do 80 easily on 35's with upgraded steering.

Another Cooling Issue Thread - 99 Cherokee 4.0

Run it, burp it, run it burp it, etc. It takes 4 or 5 burps to get all the air out. Flowkooler is a good pump, Hesco has a better one. I can't see where coolant should make any difference. I run a high compression, 4.1 at 6k feet with a 20 year old cheap aluminum radiator pushing a heavy beast...

    Restoring a Uniframe

Frame rail stiffeners. I have the front ones and a cross-member stiffener. Floor pan is an easy replace even for a Harbor Freight cheap mig. I have the mid and rear stiffeners sitting on the floor of a garage, someday. If they were installed and tied into the full roll cage, rock rails, and...

94 XJ Running hot running out of things to check

Flowkoolers work well, or they did when I had one years ago until the fins wore off. I use the normal 50\50 with tap water and a cheap two aluminum radiator that's probably 20 years old. I do have a stick, and also a built 4.1, balanced, ported and milled 11-1 HO head, Hesco water pump and cam...

    Renix Engine Coolant System Updates

One, all XJ cooling systems need to be burped multiple times. Two, my 90 with a cheap two row aluminum open system radiator runs very cool. It's a bored 4.1, milled 11-1 HO ported HO head with a Hesco cam and water pump, bored T-body, Mopar headers, 2.5 inch exhaust on 35's, 4.11's, stick, full...

    My Never Ending Overheating Problem

As I said, Hesco water pump. They are frequently sold out. What's another $200+ difference make. LOL.

    My Never Ending Overheating Problem

Bleed the coolant system? Who does that? It needs to be burped, over and over again. I envy your Comanche, had one for awhile. My 4.1, balanced, ported HO head milled to 11-1(I'm in the Springs), Hesco cam and water pump, bored t-body, Mopar headers, 2.5 inch exhaust on 35's with 4.11's and a...

    4.1 Engine Build

I thought I'd put this on here for those of you contemplating rebuilding your 4.0. I had one rebuild at about 175k, not sure I've had an electric speedometer since I installed a 4-1. It was done at a shop with a good rep, pretty standard, I had a HO head installed, I already had Mopar Headers, a...

    Renix Computer Demon

Well, I had to get up and look at my printout for the Jeep Renix manual. Not a thing in there about the CPS. Doesn't seem like Jeep wanted their mechanics to know about the CPS. LOL I just replaced one when the beotch stopped for no reason just leaving the house and again the upgraded sensor...

    Renix Computer Demon

It's not that bad. Back in the old days, I replaced mine with a high-altitude CPS from Jeep, doubt if they are still available. Lots of extensions, on my stick I could see and get my hands up there. I am now doomed and the POS is going to fail on me. LOL

Renix XJ Running Cool and Rich - High CO

I've had a 90 since 92. I live in the Springs. It has always run rich, the only time it didn't pass back in the day, was when it needed a new catalytic converter. Even now when it is a 4.1, 11-1 ported HO head, bored T-body, Hesco cam and water pump, Mopar header and 2.5" exhaust some of the...
