Thanks a lot! its good to hear i'm at least KINDA on the right track...and it doesnt look like the 235's will look too bad so it looks like im keepin em!
well, i work at a grocery store, lol. The "standard duty" pack from quadratec was only $60 per side and the AAl was only 40 bucks for the two of them, so i figured i'd save a little money and anything would be better than the springs i have now (i think they actually have a negative arch)...but...
So i've had my xj since last july and ever since then i've been wanting to get it lifted, but im only 17 and with minimal cashflow its taken me THIS long to finally get things in order. I've slowly been gathering parts for a BB with every little bit of money i get and I've finally gotten the...
thanks man, thats a great idea ill definitely look into it. I have a few buddies with a TJ, an old bronco, and another lifted XJ and we take turns workin on each others rigs as a group, get a hell of a lot done, and maybe even learn something every once in a while  my main concern is...
haha thanks man...i considered the welded diff but as a DD i'm definintely not gonna go that route. there are a couple older ZJ's at the local junkyard, i just got a roof rack off one since my SE didnt come with one =( and ill be lookin for the pitman and other stuff if theyre stronger than...
thanks coastie for an ACTUAL reply! ...yeah mainly bolt on's..i'm gonna be doing a 3" lift if you have any suggestions (i'm thinking rusty's full leaf pack). i already have some armor for the gas, TC, and engine which i'm gonna take off and give a coat of rust oleum or...
i really do appreciate you taking your time out to judge me instead of responding to my post. its people going above and beyond like you that really make this site worthwhile. :puke:
okay, i'm back....i was gonna take some pics but then i decided i'd investigate first. the problem with the vin #'s is that i thought they didn't match up....it turns out the dealer just has really really really bad writing...the door jam sticker was scratched but it was just the serial number...
wow, i can't believe all the quick replies thanks guys.
now, some stuff i forgot to include: the "wheels" in the pic are the cheap hub caps that came with the car ...sorry for not saying that  ....the wheels are stock, ill post a pic tomorrow. there are no stickers on the inside, and there...
Thanks for the reply, but no thanks for the preaching (even if you didn't mean to)...i've already gotten every possible talk and i know it wasnt the right decision but i took my friend home 5 minutes away because his dog was hit by a car...it wasnt a joyride or anything like EVERY person seems...
Okay, so im 17 and i got my 99 xj last summer. obviously i started "modding" whatever i could as soon as i got it (stickers). i havent done much big stuff other than skids, removing the rear swaybar, getting a roof rack off a grand cherokee (didnt come with one), spraypainting whatever i can...
Howdy yall. i currently am the proud owner of a 99 xj (i think). its DEFINITELY between 98-01, DEFINITELY an xj, but i have no idea where the hell it came from. here's some pics:
so, its defnitely an xj, but i'm almost 100% sure it was originally red. i can't find any stickers indicating...
for rear bumper removal, whatever you do, don't try getting rear-ended by a Silverado. I got nailed at around 30 mph the other day and nothin but some broken plastic, lights and a few nice sized dents. the truck was totaled though
