Last time I removed the dash in my old xj I didn't have to remove the column just unbolted it from the dash and let it hang down on the seat. UNCC's right the hardest part is finding all the plugs and disconnecting them as well as splitting the through firewall fuse block. Besides that you just...
The gas tank should be about 3/4 full as I originally put a 5 gal jug in then stopped at the gas station when I tried to get the alignment done and put some more in it.
If I'm in town I may be available for helping out where I can. It just depends on when it'll be and if I end up getting sent somewhere for work. It is a big undertaking swapping the drive line like that but think about the hassle of pulling a trans/case twice and installing it, if I had a lift...
If I may make a suggestion knowing the xj. I would recommend swapping you're 01 drive train engine and all in 1 shot then the old trans/case could be sold off for parts and the engine from the 97 be the base for a full 4.7 stroker build since time will be available to do it all.
Only place you'll have room is the bed of your truck cuz the bed of the quadcab is gonna be full of spare parts like factory leafs, tailgate, mufflers, and many other odds and ends. Glad the MJ's going to someone who'll appreciate it and finish it off, plus with you being in florida you can...
I've been asked before if I would trade anything for it and I said no. I'm willing to trade but only for one thing, I'm looking for a late 90's small 4 door car like a cavalier or accord or something like that. It must be an automatic and in good condition as this will be a first car for my...
Put this on comancheclub as well. Throwing it out there the black Friday price for both rigs is $1500. Yes that's $1500 for two rigs making it $750 for a running driving 97 to make into a beater or do a full 97 swap and an almost finished 4 door Comanche.
The front doors have windows and are full power. The one back door is just a shell as it was the first version of door I built. To finish it there's not much left to be done just find a couple of xjs in a JY to pull doors from and make the back doors, weld in the box rockers, and some bondo work...
97 Cherokee County
4.0 AW4/242
Runs great and would make a good donor to update one of your other rigs or update and change this one around.
Just so there's no surprises to anyone as I respect all you guys more than that here's all the things that I know of that's wrong with it
AW4/242...
Well it looks like I'm going to be getting out of the jeep game for a while. Just bought a house and work needs to be done to it first, not to mention the fact that I don't have a garage anymore to do any work on jeeps in. So instead of it sitting neglected for an indefinite amount of time...
1. Chances are the head issue is taken care of as long as you keep the cooling system in good condition so the head and engine don't overheat creating the possibility of it happening again.
2. Alot of jeeps lean to the left not because of the engine torque but because that's where the most...
