I know this is an old thread but want to add some info that might help someone looking. There is a wire harness that grounds on the passenger side of the block next to the negative cable from the battery. If one of those ground wires is broken or high resistance you will see the "no bus"...

Awsome writeup! I personally hate ABS but am not willing to pull it on my 99 so came across your post while looking for a solution. Anyone know a good source for new tone rings? Id like to keep my Cherokee on the road till the axle is finished. ABS and Disc Brakes... Also- are 33 spline...
