Is the filter a seperate unit inside the tank? OR is the pump with the "strainers" the filter?

I really need new U-joints bad. I see that Parts America is selling CV half shafts as a replacement part as well. Is it at all possible that a CV half shaft will replace the traditional "U-Joint" half shaft on an XJ? If not....does anyone know the proper part number for a 98 XJ front axle...

OK I have a 98 Cherokee Sport. When its cold it fires right up. But after driving it, going into a store for a couple hours, coming back out, I try starting it and it just turns over and over and over. Then I turn it off and back on again and it fires right up. Whats the deal?

OK heres the list on my 98 that I've had for 3 years. currently has 106000 miles. Bought it with 70,000 miles. Broken shock bolts. replaced rotors 3 times. bad front U-Joints power window regulator takes forever to start after its warmed up radiator went out. AC fan took a dump hood latches...

Where can I buy a catalytic converter that won't cost me an arm and a leg? Mine is rattling on the inside. Sounds like a bunch of stones bouncing around. Thanks.

Ya know, that could be the issue as well. My Cat has been rattling inside for a long time. I know its probably time to replace it as well. This is another avenue to look at. Who sells reasonably priced Catalytic converters? Thanks.

Greyish color smoke from what I can tell. It happens when I really get on it to pass a car. Or else reving it while its stopped. Its 100% conventional, no syn mix. Coming from tailpipe.

I thought mobil 1 was supposed to prevent a worn motor. I guess it just doesn't make sense to me.

I've used mobil 1 100% synthetic for 3 years. Went om a budget and changed oil back to a conventional. Now not even 24 hours later the car is smoking. Whats up with that?

Its either the intake or exhaust gasket. Sounds like an exhaust gasket to me. After the engine heats up, the metal parts expand and self seal the gasket leak.

HI again. quick oil question. What do the weight numbers stand for? i.e. 5W30.......................is the "5" the viscosity of the oil when fully hot? or is the "30" the viscosity when fully hot. There has been some debate about this. I've heard that multi viscosity oil has polymers in it...
