    If it was a Tbi motor or newer vortec, I would say yes that's why I'm doing it. But getting rid of optispark in favor of hei is a huge reliability upgrade. And an lt1 with a carberator actual makes more Hp then with the stock efi . As far as fuel economy goes I couldn't care less.............

    some progress, but i've now decided in the interest of trail fixablility and parts availibility in podunk towns, i'm ditching the efi and optispark for a carb and hei distributor. stockpiling parts............

    I've seen that, and right now i actually have a compressor mount in that position, but there isn't enough room to clear the air intake between the compressor and the radiator/fans

    No fuel pressure.

    try bypassing the fuel pump resistor (white ceramic block on drivers side fender near air box, they get unplugged or have a loose connection it can casue all kinds of werid issues with the fuel pump)

    have to use a/c delete pulley, other wise everything else is good. i'm gonna run a puma 12 volt compressor for on-board air, as it will be impossible to do anything belt driven

    i'm using a stock brass 4 core, with 3 11" electric fans. the hose are quite interesting, but they work.

    make sure that you installed the mount on the passenger side of the engine in the right holes. it is possible to install it into multiple holes on the passenger side

    no firewall mods at all!! using shorty headers with center straight down dump. no plating either, motor doesn't have enough power to hurt anything, at least i think so :laugh2::laugh2:
