2001 XJ - Good fuel pump options?

That’s damn good to know - thanks man!

2001 XJ - Good fuel pump options?

No dice on salvaging the old pump… there was way more fuel in the tank than I remembered, and the thing all but disintegrated over the years. What’s the best option currently on the market for a complete pump/sending unit?

2001 XJ - Good fuel pump options?

So in the 6 years my 2001 XJ has been sitting since I started a 4.2L mini-stroker build, the fuel pump has seized up and died... verified all electrical is good and 12.5v+ is reaching the green/white wire at the fuel pump connector near the tank. Unfortunately, complete Bosch sending units are...

2001 XJ - "no bus" issue

Ahh, gotcha. Fortunately it’s no longer an issue (magic, I say). New issue is the fuel pump… gonna go out and do some more diagnostics once the sun goes down a bit and a friend is available to assist. Fuel pump relay passes bench tests so at least I can rule that out.

2001 XJ - "no bus" issue

Glad to see you’re still around, man. And possibly, but I have no clue which one you’re referring to.

2001 XJ - "no bus" issue

Aight, another stream-of-consciousness update. I went and re-tested pins 3 and 11 on the OBD connector and got ~2.4v on each when testing against a ground (as one should). Upon doing so, I looked up to see that the other gauges (fuel, temp, voltage) were now working, and the "no bus" error...

2001 XJ - "no bus" issue

Also getting no voltage (<0.1v) across pins 3 and 11 (CCD bus pins) in the OBD2 connector.

2001 XJ - "no bus" issue

Following diagnostic suggestions in this thread, I checked the voltage at the TPS with the key in the "on" position... and got 5.17v on the orange/reference wire (which is good). Battery is reading 12.54v at the terminals. All fuses in the underhood PDC/fusebox are good. Reinstalled the fuel...

2001 XJ - "no bus" issue

Hey all, Been absent a while (been a hell of a few years), but I finally got my 2001 XJ back together after a mini-stroker build I completed a few years ago... I'm pretty close to firing it up to break in the cam, but have hit the "no bus" issue. Fuel pump relay has been pulled in order to...

    Battery relocation

Thought about doing this with 2x Optima 6v batteries in series as an aux/secondary battery setup, but never did. If you’re intending on them replacing your cranking battery, make sure the resulting specs are on-point and don’t skimp on cabling.

    Please. Help.

I run said setup with a V8 ZJ drag link and tie rod. With regard to control arms, I run the RE drop brackets (and reinforcement brackets) with JKS 6100 and 7100 control arms (apparently no longer available). Got my pinion angle and caster dialed in, and I can run 33's without a steering...

Wheel cocked after WJ knuckle and ZJ tie rod?

The only way excessive camber should come into play in your situation would be with a bent axle housing, offset/adjustable ball joints (relatively uncommon, but available), or an improperly seated unit bearing (which could happen if the unit bearing spacer was not 100% flush with the original...

Mini-stroker torque converter issue (232 crank)

And to elaborate more… the 232 crank (72+ with the “C-ring”, almost assuredly the flex plate/flywheel centering ring as suggested by 75SV1) was just fine. It was just that POS remanufactured torque converter that was the problem. Unfortunately I bought it 3+ years ago and can’t figure out who I...

Mini-stroker torque converter issue (232 crank)

Threw in the new TC and things look great… no binding whatsoever.

Mini-stroker torque converter issue (232 crank)

Suspicions confirmed: https://imgur.com/a/DtveaHV Definite scarring on the snout… called O’Reilly and had them pull the 2 TC’s they had in their local warehouse, and I’m glad I did. One was scarred and painted like this one, and the other had a nicely-machined clean snout measuring exactly...
