    Box under driver seat?

That's interesting, both XJ's were built 9/98, the one with the module under the seat has a serial number only 5173 lower than the other.

    Box under driver seat?

Just bought a 99 XJ Limited from CO. Noticed it has a box mounted under the driver seat, about 4" square and 1" high. My other 99 XJ Limited has only mounting studs in that area. Just wondering if anyone on here knows what it is. Thanks, haven't been on here for quite awhile.

    242 full time operation....

That assumption is bass akward. Part time 4WD is not to be used unless road conditions are slippery.

2000 XJ 4.0 2WD Auto: Dash Illumination: Fuse 6 keeps popping. Short in harness?

You might want to check your tail lights before ripping things apart by the dash. On my old 90 XJ, when the tail light wiring went bad, the fuse blew and also caused the dash lights to go out. I believe the system is designed that way to get your attention, so you know something is wrong before...

Rear Drum Brake Rebuild and Hard line replacement (tips for newbies)

I have been able to get the hard lines off wheel cylinders without trashing the lines. First thing I do is clean off the nut and hard line by it with a small brass wire brush. Next, it takes awhile, but keep spraying with PB Blaster, then heating with a MAPP gas torch and repeating the process...

I printed the coupon (without restrictions) Friday morning and picked up 4 #1085 filters for $16.12 tax included. The lady at the counter was baffled when I gave her the coupon, the manager looked at it, gave her the okay and calculated the cost. Thanks for your help!

    Speedi-Sleeve 99187 XJ D44

Yes you use the same size seal when using the speedi-sleeve. No, the speedi-sleeve kit does not include a seal. I have used these in industrial applications years ago. As far as pricing, maybe one also includes an installation tool?

Will Skyjacker N8018 rear shock fit? All stock...

Just looking at the numbers, I would say the collapsed length is going to be too long for use with saggy stock springs. The shock will be bottomed out and the ride will be crappy. Don't bother changing the shocks at all until the new springs are installed.
