Nope haven't gotten time to make anymore progress. On a positive note, it doesn't leak at all... yet.

I've used richmond without issue. The worst diff for noise seems to be 8.8's. So much so that 8.8 gears even come with a warning that gear noise may occur and is normal. Lol.

Big difference in mini toy axles and 80 axles. It's like a d30 vs d60 honestly.

The 9.25 is a very stout axle as well. Usually fetch good money at the bone yards though.

Here in the south it's not always a possibility. It's like crawling on ice down here. Out trails are constantly flowing with water and covered in slick clay and mud. It's very easy to slip off line and become high centered. Diff clearance is a HUGE deal hear.

Started with sealing things up this morning. Cut down some 9/16 fine thread studs I had. They had a nice beveled edge, so I cut them down to clear the shift rails. Then I got some double lip seals for the shift rails. The little plate that mounts over the stock seals has an indention to fit...
