List of companies associated with profits used to close OHV trails Local/National

Re: Stay The Trail Ambassadors - Who and What We Are

Burton snowboards, new Belgium brewery and a very extensive list. Let me find the link of all the other ones. It was being passed around about a month ago.

Re: Stay The Trail Ambassadors - Who and What We Are

Burton snowboards, new Belgium brewery .
Sure about that one? Specifically new Belgium brewery? I know there were a lot of companies added to a "list" supporting SUWA (or whatever that damn group is) and yet were never asked permission for their names to be used or that their stance was correctly being represented. I could be wrong but I thought NBB was one of the companies who was listed falsely. Be sure you read into each company. Some were contacted about it and had no idea WTF anyone was talking about. I know the list is on the internet, but that doesn't mean is has to be true

Re: Stay The Trail Ambassadors - Who and What We Are

That's funny. One of the listed companies is Chalk Bag Specialists. The people that taught me to rock climb would cut your rope if you used chalk. You don't mark the rock, evah!

Figured this was too good a' topic to leave it in the back ground of a different thread.

I know REI for sure, Someone said New Belgium Brewing Co? That would make sense but only because I'm a biker too, and I know why bikers would want to close OHV trails. Burton Snowboards was also mentioned. I could be ignorant to some list that would be easier to pull and post from somewhere but I wouldn't know what to actually punch into my browser.

This is however a very important factor in the longevity of our hobby/sport/recreational activity and for future generations of NAXJA 'rs and off roaders alike. We like our toys, and projects like Stay the Trail help to aid this as well. Volunteer work is a priceless necessity. I'll be helping out when and where I can.

I read through the list. Did you verify that they ARE NOT supposed to be on the list? It works both ways.

Well, as I do no purchasing from either of them, no, I have not looked. But to look at something on the internet, take it for truth, and bash on companies without doing any research for myself would make me a total asshole. So I am implying that folks should look into the companies ahead of time, and not just hop the bandwagon and assume.

Re: Stay The Trail Ambassadors - Who and What We Are

the two i specifically listed are INDEED supporters. I'll leave it up to you to look into the others that you may be a supporter of. I quit buying burton products way back in the day cause they purposely changed their baseplates and mounting holes on their snowboards so people can only use burton bindings with burton boards. chillax my friend.

Re: Stay The Trail Ambassadors - Who and What We Are

Im perfectly fine :dunno:
Just like I said. No need to hop a bandwagon and assume that the listed companies acutally support it and then bash on them. I said i could have been wrong on NBB but I remembered a bunch of discussion on it. Just dont want people tossing out company names and bashing them before there is any actual investigation into the situation. I know that is a crazy concept and all. But there is a thread for this stuff, leave this about the original topic, as it is very important to our area.

Sorry guys!!!

I realize this thread seems a little out of order, thats just how the forum transfers it over. Im the :looser: on this one LOL. Anyway. Moved all this stuff to this thread as this was the appropriate topic. Thanks

I'm not attempting to "Bash" on any businesses here. However it's the Michael Jackson syndrome, if enough things are said about you for long enough by the majority of folks. It's probably true. All I'm saying is there are better more local ways to procure brands like Merrell, Keen, Columbia, Mountain Hardwear, Big Agnes, The Northface, Arcteryx, MSR, GSI, Black Diamond, etc. I do know for a fact however that REI does support this, and they're a national corporation. Most (if not all) REI brand items are made in Mexico or a Middle Eastern/Asian country.

Other options for this type of gear LOCAL BUSINESSES Denverish area;

As far as New Belgium Brewing; Well gentlemen, let's face it. We have a LOT of breweries here in Colorado, more than any other state. If there's a chance that drinking NBB's product will help close trails, I'll just stay away from it. To be honest IMO there's a lot of better options for local brew anyway. Plus, they took the Cherry out of the summer Folly Pack. Need I remind you; you could never buy it in a 6 pack.

Breckenridge Brewery, Odell, Left Hand, Great Divide, Avery, Wynkoop, to name A FEW..

Personal favorites from each; Breckenridge's Vanilla Porter, Odell's IPA, Left Hand's Milk Stout, Great Divide's Titan IPA or Claymore Scotch Ale, or the Hercules double IPA, or YETI Imperial Stout. I dig Great Divide's beer. Avery's white rascal is a great wheat beer...

idk.

What tickles me is that hikers/bikers do a ton of damage to the trails...nearly every fire we've had up here where I live was by those "observing" nature without the use of gas powered vehicles .

new belgium is a supporter of the sierra club, as is sierra nevada. good enough reason to stay away, IMO.

pretty sure CA has the most breweries out of all the states. Hell, we have about 40 in this county alone.
but CO does have some great options, most of the ones you mentioned i've tried and like. I love the left hand milk stout, and yeti imperial stout.

That's dumb.

And now the CEO of REI is nominated as Secretary of the Interior. Might as well post a sign: "Only backpackers allowed," for the entire west.
