I wont know for sure until mid Septmber but it looks like I am going to be detailed to San Diego for 3 years.

I cant wait to trade moss covered granite for sand stone. I cant wait to trade mud for tire slicing volcanic rock. I cant wait to trade green stinky water holes for blow sand.

I cant wait to wheel with Remi, Johnny, Cal, Matt and the Black Sheep. The Mad Max Ham Radio "Shrimp Boat" goes in for a rear link and East Coast ORI's later this month.

If all goes well I will see you in February.

Hmmm, Spiedies on the lakebed?

Wait... you won't need to show up in a rental vehicle?

I loved every second I was stationed in SOCAL. Tons of free wheeling and camping to be had. I was never home unless we had to work weekends. We almost stayed because we loved it so much but the cost of living was just too high. I lived in Lakeside for about a year and a half.

i'm not sure i even know how to wheel anymore, but i'll fake it to hang out with nosigma.

Cal: No problem, I will teach you to drive (LOL). You scared the shiite out of me on the whoops and the let me play codog pulling cable your first time up chocolate thunder. You can drive my rig, paybacks are he!! (LOL).

Sidewaysstarion: Time we got the grayhairs back out and gave the cardiologists some thing to worry about.

JohnnyX: Remi has kids, so he deserved a pass until they were 5 but now they need to learn how to drive and spot. The mud caves and Fossil Shell Beds in the Yuha basin would be a good start. Did you ever get all the glass plucked out of your scalp? Jo is still worried about you. That was a bloody mess only topped by the degloving of the MJ driver (the name fades with time).

Carol: I will never park a Grand Viagra in the middle of a firepit again, at least not until I am sure the Navy will cover ALL the damages. I spent a couple hundred fixing the damaged plastic (thank goodness for pic-n-pull), getting the mud cleaned off from the under body and then getting it aligned and balanced. Rentals and the Hammers dont mix well.

Dave: There is nothing better than properly marinaded Spiedies kept cool over a 3,000 mile transit then grilled to perfection. That was an unbelievable effort. Chicken sucks unless blessed by your touch. What will it take for a repeat? You sent the sauce but I failed to replicate.

Skverly: The Hand Of God followed by the persistent attentions of a horney dog (another name forgotten, but I am sure you remember). By far the best story I have told of a CONUS action.

I bave tried to live up to your standards of insanity and dedication while on the east coast. Hope to see you soon.

Gray hairs, huh? Now yer pick'n on us!
Welcome back to SoCal!

Just you UOBs.

Varmint #1 will be bummed that he won't get to see the shrimp boat first hand. I will have to drag him out of school to make a trip down there to see it. Or wait until school gets out and take a field trip for field day.

Well it will be a couple weeks before I get final word on the position but two of the 3 other candidates backed out when they heard I applied with the backing of two Flags, 3 Birds and two Warrents. Not a done deal yet and pride commeth before the fall.....but I have no reason to worry.

I doubt Cal forgot how to drive. Perhaps how to drive slow...

My hair is dyed, so must not be referring to me...

Just remember, the Spiedies aren't done until the grill catches on fire. Multiple photographic proof available on request.

Sarge. I say no more.

I doubt you could live to that low a standard.

Well John,I hope you get the post, Then I,ll have a reason to go that far west.

Sarge must be 90 in dog years. I hope we all are so lucky but with better choices in partners.

I love DC (not). Politics has intervened. Got word today that I will not be heading to SD. Most likely going to take retirement and go to the rockless land of Eastern Kansas in March. 1,100 miles closer but still 1800 miles short.

We are buying a truck and trailer to put Colorado, Utah and maybe Calfornia within reach.
