Slaughterhouse is just a few weeks away! We will be meeting at the Conoco in Morrison to caravan up at 9 AM, ideally heading out by 9:15 at the latest. There is a Park-n-Ride directly across the street that we can stage in depending on how many folks show up. We will be utilizing Channel 16 if you have a CB. This is not a particularly long or difficult trail, but as always make sure you bring enough food and water for your time out.

Conoco @ 9 AM
16283 Morrison Rd
Morrison, CO 80465

For those not wanting to come out to the Conoco the group should be at the trailhead around 10 AM. The location of the trailhead is outside of Bailey; P-63 Rd, Bailey, CO 80421.

I don't have an XJ anymore, but I'd like to come along for Chinaman's in my JKU if you guys don't mind.

Re: Colorado Chapter Monthly Trail Runs

Since my experience is mostly in making rocky trails and fire roads more comfortable than a stock XJ, not "playing in the rocks", can these trail rides be updated with what the 'recommended' or 'minimum' vehicle setup is that won't incur damage to a daily driver? I have my eyes on bigger and better on my other XJ but haven't built it yet.

Re: Colorado Chapter Monthly Trail Runs

Yes, I have seen, and some of these trails can be made easier with bypasses. However, I don't want to show up and be a detriment to the group because at the moment I'd be showing up with 30" tires. I have also been on some trails that were rated worse than we thought they were. It seems like rocky trails irritate some with "bone jarring" and "teeth rattling" but I've got a Jeep that smooths all that out. More like what this group prefers... In the meantime, work progresses on the other XJ which will have larger tires and more more body armor.

Re: Colorado Chapter Monthly Trail Runs

Any lockers? Chinamans probably can still be done on 30's with good spotting, but it's pretty rough in spots. It it's wet, AT's won't cut it.

IIRC Led had one hell of a blast getting a stocker through it.
So it can be done. But should is another question.

Unless, you are representing the Chapter on one of our Adopt-a-Road volunteer days.
