Re: Meow...........

Back from a Nebraska road trip to see family. Yes, I drove the Hellcat........across Nebraska....... in June........

1. Arrival. Murdered bugs. 2. Top speed..... met a Nebr State Trooper that showed me a freshly paved 1/2 mile stretch between corn fields 2 miles out of town - as fast as I could get before running out of road (he even rode shotgun). 3. Average MPG on the trip home....not bad! 4. Home. More murdered bugs and one dead bird (lower left intake opening....gross. I've spared you the gooey shot...lol)

I think it's crazy-fast...... considering I didn't get to use the full 1/2 mile.... I had to be able to slow down safely before the asphalt became dirt road.

https://www.texasmile.net/

210 feet above sea level, at the end of October, should be pretty good air...

Re: Meow...........

2200 miles on the 'Cat now. Still have yet to really reach it's potential. But the 3 second 0-60 romps sure are a blast.....

First modifications........

Grill badge

Spoiler badge

Door ding, compliments of some asshat at work......

Future mods:

-315 rears (currently 275's)
-Cold air intake (doesn't really improve performance but it lets the supercharger howl a bunch louder.....)
-Find a second set of wheels and get track tires
-Swap out dusty Brembo pads for some Hawks or Z26 Powerstops
-Body graphics of some sort..... just gotta break up all that white somehow.

Did a benefit cruise Saturday with the Colorado Dodge Challenger Club to raise funds and awareness for the CSP Trooper Jamie Jursevics Foundation. It's the club Ken (Rockken) belongs to. He and some other HC guys have done some performance mods like a Diablo 93 octane tune, cracked the ECU for tuning, DOT slicks, etc.... I don't see myself needing to do any tuning to mine. Would defeat the purpose of the extended warranty I paid for.....

Re: Meow...........

Good seeing you Troy last Saturday. Through a couple events over the last month we raised $5000.00 for fallen officers.

Re: Meow...........

The pre-production Hellcats had these...... I really felt they should have made final production.

Re: Meow...........

I gotta say, Yella... I'd skip any type of graphics, that flat black on white is pure sleeper cool. Why flaunt it when you know you've got it?

In high school I often dd'd for drunken friends as an athlete - one of my besties had a 68 stang, pure white, stockish wheels, 289 emblems... And a beastly built 390 under the hood. Much fun was had.

Because I'm not trying to get into street races with asshats caught up in bigger-dick displays of power just because they wanna try ya. I'd prefer they just nod respectfully and resist trying to find out what I'm running. "With great power comes great responsibility"........

I haven't seen anyone do it yet, but if someone wanted to have fun at the drag strip..... one could lose the Hellcat badges, hood and rear spoiler, paint the calipers black, put the front clip, emblems and hood from an '09-ish SXT Challenger on it and claim the whine from under the hood was a bad power steering pump...... then go blow some doors off at bandimere......

And telling me fictional stories of a mythical hot-rod ford does nothing for me.........

I'm on the fence about the graphics..... it does look pretty damn good as is. I'm not a fan of the billboard graphics all down the side with some monster cat head or "Hemi" letters bigger than my arm.....

However, I don't get the de-badging thing. To each their own.

It's got the appropriate call outs I think it should have now. The angry cat head rear fender stripe is increasingly losing stride with me.

I guess time will tell.

Yeah, it didn't do much for a few 396 chevy owners either, puzzled how a 289 ate em up.
