My bolts are hashed on one side. I would just repair or replace both sides.

Was watching this guy's youtube video(linked below under pic) and knocking out/replacing the bolts looks pretty simple.

I Hit Home depot and their carriage bolts are like fence grade garbage.

I Hit Truevalue and they look better but they are just non graded zinc
"non-automotive" as the guy who was helping me said.

Easy button would be to buy two new clevis(or good used I guess)

The part is called a "Suspension Clevis". Part # 5200 0532(discontinued)

What's the issue, you can even buy them in stainless. They don't do anything anyway!

Well they clamp the stirrup down on the caster shim.

So just ditch the carriage bolts entirely and use good grade regular hardware and washers to hold the shims tight?

Don't really even need to spot weld the bolts in I guess-as long as it's clamped down it will hold the shims tight.

I would still use carriage bolts ( I don't recall the clearance between it and the control arm).

Plenty of room for hex head bolts with washers.
