It’s a 1996 country 4.0L aw4 4wd and I’m not sure I’ll have to go out there and look

Does your 4wd light work?

FSM says Connector 414 BK/RD (Black/Red) and GY/YL (Grey/Yellow) on the TC switch

Or Connector 357 (same colors) just upstream on Trans.
