My 97 is the same way but my idle is intermittent. Have you checked your injectors are firing? and or have you read about unsticking your valves with mopar CCC or seafoam? Both these things have helped my idle.
I'm here to spread the word of NAPA gold battery. Its cheap, its rugged and it will keep your car ticking. Probably the best bang for your buck. I'm not powering any crazy electronics but multiple jumps and cycles to dead only to come right back to life with a little juice. They are pretty good...
After more reading on anything with a 97 a 15 amp fuse this seems likely. Ill begin poking in there to see if i can see something. Just mad that I tried to make my jeep better and it appears it broke more because a good fuse

Logged into comment on this. Its the drive-line angle of your rear driveshaft. I had the exact same problem/sound. I put a TC drop in and its been gone ever since.
