It made peak power at 6300. While it is tame for a street/strip car, it would be a tad out of range in an XJ. It would work, just wouldnt be the best choice. Only thing I would change would be the camshaft and cam timing to bring the rpm curve down a bit. Would still be leaps and bounds...
No way on earth a 4.0 can compare to a AMC V8.
We have one in a gremlin right now that is mild on pump gas that puts 510 to the rear tire. Show me a 4.0 that will come close to that.
I have no idea how to post pics here. Message me a contact number and I can text them to you.
Would be willing to ship but guessing it would be pricey.
Thanks for the tip. For my use, I think the dana 35 should hold up. Mostly road driving, mild trails and dirt roads at the deer lease. Its just a weekend and deer season vehicle. Not any rocks or extreme wheelin.
I already have a Samurai I use for wheelin.
I have had it out on two off road trips so far. Both times had 450lbs( we weighed it) of junk in the back. No settling yet.
Im just shy of 300lbs myself. i can sit in the rear with the hatch up and the jeep hardly moves. These springs are crazy stiff.
I have already corrected the problem with the rear springs. Went with the Liquid Iron Leaf sliders. Couldnt be happier. Was 100% improvement.
Not adding any lift was my main concern. The rear was already to high as it was. Still to high but I'm going to give it a bit more time to see if it...
You are correct, there is plenty of info on this site and several others.
The vast majority of posts have the exact issue with Rough Country leaf springs being to short and causing bad shackle angles. This problem is not a jeep issue. It is an issue with the vendor selling springs that are...
:dunno: I guess I missed the fine print on their website where it stated that in addition to this complete 4.5" lift kit, you will also need to purchase shackle relocation brackets or your vehicle will ride like shit and not articulate.
Kind of like a vendor sending you 16" tires when you...
Seriously?
I have the stock shackle. The springs included in the kit are for 4.5" lift and are to be used with the stock shackle. The springs are too short. The shackle angles slightly forward from 90 degrees.
So i stated it slightly wrong
Copied from their website:
"If you purchase a Rough Country Suspension product and you are not completely satisfied with any aspect of the product you may return it within 60 days for a full refund of the purchase price"
This was what i was refering to.
Both...
In December I purchased and installed the RC complete Xseries 4 1/2 kit with the full springs in the rear .
Complete junk. Would luv to have my money back and start over. Ride is horrible, front and rear.
Called and complained several times to RC. So much for their 100% satisfaction...
