Same problem here, only it's RK leaf springs through Discount Jeep Parts. Got an e-mail on thursday saying they were backordered, 5 to 7 days before they would ship. Got another e-mail yesterday (fri) saying they had shipped minus the sleeves and bushings, and that the sleeves and bushings would...

92 Cherokee Problem - Flex Plate

If your engine runs good (other than the knock) and it has just started knocking, you should be able to get away with replacing the rod bearings. I doubt that your crank is "out of round" and replacing/rebuilding the engine seems a bit extreme unless it is absolutely necessary. I know that I...

Need advice: power steering squeek diagnosis

Check the bolts that hold your upper track bar bracket to the body, these bolts loosened up on my 88 and the movement of the bracket produced a strange squeek, simular to the noise a dry urathane bushing makes.

    Belt Squel WTF?

Thats what belt dressing does, it makes the belt sticky in an effort to stop slipping and quiet a noisy belt. I don't think it degrades the belt, but once it's on it's pretty much impossible to remove. It has been my experience with this stuff that it actually causes more problems than it fixes...

    Plugs Poll

I'm not actually saying they are better, but if you take a Champion plug purchased at a parts store, and the same number plug purchased at the dealer, and compare the two, you will notice that the dealer purchased plug has a slightly bigger electrode, and in general appears to be a little better...

I think 60thAnivrsryXJ has explained it quite well, I was told the same thing many years ago by someone who knows. I run dealer purchased Champions in all 3 of my XJ's, always have, always will.

    overheating

Replacing the fan clutch is a good suggestion, and you are correct in assuming that your factory gauge is inaccurate. I just went through a simmilar situation with my XJ, and after throwing a few parts at it,cap, thermostat, etc,I decided to install a quality aftermarket temp gauge, turns out my...

    power steering?

If your 85 is anything like mine (2.8l) then you should need to loosen a pivot bolt on the left front of the pump, then there is a nut on the backside of the the pump, its hard to see but its there. This should allow the pump to move enough to tension the belt.

    Idle Issue

You might want to try a can of Mopar combustion chamber cleaner, part #04318001ab available at your local chrysler dealer, Iv'e used it several times and found it to be quite effective. At 5 bucks a can it's worth a shot.
