I stand corrected it does not go there. It goes into the dash to the vents. That's an easy splice. Hopefully that's what's causing the jeep to surge and idle so badly

Arrived home from my honeymoon, got in the jeep and it was running badly. Found the culprit.
Does anyone know where I could get an oem replacement for the entire line? I'd prefer to not have to mess around making something from a kit as it's winter.

Checked for power, it had power. Replaced the pumps and all is well!
FYI for those that may be referencing this in the future, you don't need to remove the wheel well lining to gain access. Just pull it back on the bottom by the bumper gently and you'll have plenty of room to see and reach...
I use the rainx orange stuff. I dont mix anything. I use that stuff in all my vehicles. When I try to use the pump it doesnt make a single sound, silent. I could pull back the wheel well lining, if theres enough crap to gum up the pumps maybe I will see evidence of that at the bottom of the...
Hi all, hopefully this is the last of the head scratchers for the year here in what is now frozen MA.
So my 98 xj no longer has functioning windshield washer pumps. From what I understand, the fuse for the two pumps also runs the horn and wipers which both work. The ground for the pumps is...
98 Xj 4.0 auto 4wd lifted 33's
The 1998 Xj failed inspection because the hazards do not work. Turn signals work totally fine. The issue with the hazards must be relatively new as I usually turn them when on the highway and traffic comes to a sudden halt. Has anyone had this problem...
I appreciate you sharing. I think I have my wiring sorted and the damage repaired. I will definitely check that area if I have further issues

Front o2 is a Bosch I installed in 2017. Only the coil was a blind throw, the rest were replaced for a reason. Such as the exhaust which the cat was no longer good on and the rest of the Schaub was very rusty. Fuel vent tube had a pin hole ect. The only sensors I can't speak for are the ones on...
So I'm not sure what I'm missing here.
Bogs and backfires under accel.
New stuff:
Fuel pump
Catalytic converter
Downpipe
Muffler
Downstream o2
Fuel vent tube
Throttle body and all sensors on throttle body (a gift from someone scrapping an xj they just put all that brand new on)
Tune up with...
Fixing the wiring for the crank position sensor seems to have fixed my random no start issue. But I suspected the cam sensor once the random stumble and pop wasn't solved. Between what you're saying and the fact that replacing that cap and rotor button did nothing for the lopey idle or random...
So.. poking around I did find this. I'm not sure what would have caused this, but I think I replaced this cap and rotor under 1 year ago.

Alright I am officially stumped.
Vehicle will rarely and randomly just lose power. Almost as if it's about to stall. It happens maybe once every 1 hour of run time and lasts about 3 seconds so diagnosis is difficult. Only ever had it happen while driving, not at idle. Sounded kind of like a cps...
I did take the throttle body off, remove all the sensors and clean it well a few years ago. This was it's first cleaning and it was fairly clean already but ill try that regardless. It's running great now with no issues for the past 2 commutes, only happened that one time when the cel went away...
Hello everyone,
98 XJ AMC 242 4spd Auto 4x4
So i have had an evap code for large leak causing CEL. Was going to look into it next week but otherwise the jeep has run perfectly. No mpg loss or lethargic behavior of any kind.
Jump to today, walk out of a store and get in the jeep. I start it...
Can someone tell me what size the hard line from the canister to the tank? It's very rusty so I'm starting with that before I move on to other things. Is it the same size as the brake lines? I have some nickel copper laying around I thought I'd use if that's the case.
Since it recently got a...
I cannot tell you how wonderful it is to be able to run regular fuel again! No ping, no shake, it sings up hills instead of a miserable racket... it's like meeting for the first time, again. I also like Bosch equipment. I have heard good things about them. Only time will tell with the Carter...
With the old pump, all I was dealing with was a slightly crappy start and some ping at low end 4th unless I ran premium. Fuel trims were okay. With the second pump, I couldn't drive it long enough to even get that far because it kept stalling and the mixture was all over the place. I filled it...
