It's no alpha.. But it's a low miles 6.5L turbo that I now have running like new.
Next bad lands trip, I'll at least get it in the quarry. About the only place it will fit!
I ditched the roof rack.. So it's less toolish driving around.. Chasing a lead on spare carrier and hope to have MT's on...
Update:
Still needing to tackle floor. Haven't had much time to spend in the shop but still moving along.
Also bought a new toy that needed some love, so since its a DD, it took priority:

I'll call the junkyard. I have a set in the donor, but it still runs and drives so I don't want to disable it.
Still working! Compiling parts and looking for an NV3550. Picked up a great bed last night in near mint condition.
Now all I have to do is convince Big Hank to build a matching trailer for his expedition chili pepper with a pop-over tent on top out of my old bed.
More to come!
If you follow his thread, you'll see it's closed an he's not a happy camper..
But never fear!! I'll switch my MJ build thread over to the tech forum soon... Maybe even hi-jack this one! You won't even remember why you were impressed with another 97+ MJ swap with fresh paint:)
Midwest...
Thanks Flex! Will definitely be able to use help on wiring when I get there..
As for the engine... All I'll say for now is that it's a Cummins with more power than my last one over 200lbs lighter than that one was too.
Finalizing adapter plans today for the NV3550 with Phoenix castings...
Just to let you all know, still chugging along.
Finishing up engine mount design and then I'll pull the trigger on custom rear suspension hardware so i can get the rear axle in and custom engine mounting hardware at the same time... Since I don't have direct access to heavy fab equipment...
I'm down in Columbus and could use the pass side bed side.. Or the whole bed if the price was right.
I've got a short bed that is rust free but has some damage to the front pass corner.
Let me know!
