Why not extend the plate past the bottom of the uni-body rail and use it as the spring hanger? It would be pretty strong. Would it be the wrong width? Not trying to be smart, just a question.

You will probably regret fully welding them if you are going to remove them later to weld them on to the stiffeners... Just something to consider...

I think I read some where that the front of the topper is adjustable to make it match the angle of the back of the cab.

I took mine out because it stopped working and was just taking up room. I think that the black wire might have plugged into the yellow thing attached to the bottom piece of the dash.
