My son and me converted this 2x4 to 4x4. Used 98 XJ running gear with AX15 trans and 231 transfer case 4.5 inch lift. SOA on 8.25 in rear. Really pretty straightforward project, haven't had much experience with Jeeps up until this, I'm hooked. Looking for another MJ, doubt I'll get another one...
Hey Guys, couldn't find this in search so here goes. I'm building a 4x4 out of a 2x4 MJ truck. My second on I've done, the first one I used an AX!% trans and 231 T/C out of a 98 XJ, so no worries there. What I have now is a NV3550 out of a 04 Wrangler. Seems if I recall correctly there was some...
Before I did anything like installing that header, I'd grind that "Bird Dookie" weld off and get somebody to weld it up right. If that doesn't leak, its gonna break.
Can somebody steer me to the link with the info for a homemade Renix TPS adapter to a HO. I did the search but couldn't find it. I don't really want to send Hesco $150 for a $10 part. Thanks.
I'm putting in a 4.0 from a 93 into an 89 and I'm gonna use the 89 intake and I was wanting to know if I should use an intake gasket for the 89 or the 93 or if there is any difference. Thanks in advance.
Hey guys, Can anybody tell me if a 4.2's bellhousing bolt pattern and engine mounts are compatible with the 4.0? What about the flywheel when running a manual? Are they balanced differently? Will the 4.0 flywheel work on a 4.2? Thanks
This is very interesting information. I work for Michelin here in Greenville SC which is the parent company of BFG and I'll have to check into why the availability of the Mud Terrains is so poor. We can't sell em if Ya'll can't buy em. I do know when the plant in Opelika Alabama shut down there...
For some reason I can't post this in the classifieds. Just thought I'd try one more time to see if anybody wants a 99 intake for $50 before I throw it in with some busted blocks and send em to the crusher. Seems a shame but its gotta go, went with a SBC in the MJ so I don't need this. E-mail me...
Re: low oil pressure before and after pump change
You say the bottom end was done. Did this include checking clearances? Ditto on the Fram filter, lose that thing.
Turn the pinion yoke to the 12 O'clock position without the caps/clamps on it. Get you a magnetic angle finder and attach it across the cups in the 12O'clock position also. Rotate your housing until you get the desired angle and weld your perches.
Why tap anything? Chances are the guy don't have a NPT tap and they aren't cheap. Weld the damn bung and you are done. No use making something easy out to be hard.
