Happy Holidays!!!
I just picked up a brand new set of Clayton Offroad 4.5” Leaf Springs for the XJ. I went to install them and before torquing everything down, I noticed a lot of play in the front bushing. The bushing sleeve inner diameter in the front is larger than in the rear. The front is...

RCP,
The K060935 has an effective length of 93.42" and the K060950 has an effective length of 95.02". The K060950 is listed for the 2000 XJ, and is what I have. I'm surprised K060935 fit your XJ.
Thanks. I agree that all the service manuals I've seen say 0.650". I'd like to know what people are measuring on actual transmissions though. I should have taken a measurement before disassembling the transmission.

Does anyone have a '97+ AW4 with factory converter available to check the dimension referenced in the attached AllData picture? I posted in the "Everything you need to know about AW4" thread but didn't get a response.
The '97 and '00 FSM state the dimension should be 0.650" for 6 cyl and...
I took a look at the wear marks on the original pump inner gear from the 2000 xj and it looks like the drive lugs weren't fully engaged during operation. In one picture you can see the pump sitting flush on the TC with full lug engagement and in the other picture you can see the pump sitting...
RCP,
Do you mind sharing where you bought the IACs and the P/N? I am in process of putting together a motor for my 2000 and want to replace all sensors with new Mopar units.
Thanks,
Noah
Although I don't think this matters, I did use the pump body with gears and stator support shaft from the 97 donor trans as it was in better shape than the 2000 unit. To my knowledge, the pumps were the same for the A340 and AW4 from 1985 and up.
The ATSG manual says the spec should be 0.689"...
Hi everyone! This is an extremely informative thread. Thanks to all who contributed.
I recently picked up a very clean (for the Northeast) 2000 XJ Limited 2wd. The plan is to convert to 4wd so I set out to convert the 2wd AW4 to 4wd using a 97 4wd AW4 donor I had kicking around. I have...
DrawTite Trailer Hitch P/N 75054
I believe this fits 84 - 01 Cherokees. Hitch only. I do not have the wiring to go along with the hitch.
$75 OBO
Thanks,

RCP Phx,
Looking good! Is that another stroker build for the second jeep or pictures from the previous build? Have any specs on all the studs? All from ARP? Keep up the good work and tech!
Do you have the 42RE in the ZJ? What transfer case in the Zj?
If I recall correctly, you will need to swap the input shaft from the ZJ transfercase to the XJ transfercase since the Aw4 and 42RE require different length input shafts on the tcase.
I agree with this completely. Years ago I did some thread pull - out testing using an Instron with helicoils vs cut threads into cast aluminum. I don't have the data handy right now but the helicoils can withstand far more axial force than cut threads into the cast aluminum. The principle behind...
