So i have a 3" lift on my XJ and although i have very little driveline vibration i wanted to go ahead and see if a 1/2-1" transfer case drop would smooth it out and prolong the life of my u-joints. Looking at the bolts that hold the crossmember up i noticed one was a stud on each side. Can...
So this does not happen every time, but... When i come to a stop and then go to accelerate i sometimes experience a clunk. I dont know much but it feels like either the slack being taken out in the rear end either diff or drive line? Not sure what it is so i would love any suggestions? If i...
its just coils and blocks. not a heavy offroad rig, DD 95%. i know i know i am looking for aal's cause ive been hammered on here enough about the blocks:)
To add a detail i left off, they are ment for lifts up to 4.5" this should give a reference point. and they are the lower arms. WHich leads to another question, if i got these would i also need to get uppers to match? Educate me this is my first XJ!!!
So i will be putting a 3" lift on my 97 XJ sport, automatic very soon and have found a set of extended Control arms for sale. They are rough country and have the bend in them for clearence. DO i need these? or if i do not need these, would i have a better set up with them? i am budget sensative...
So i recently purchased a set of BF Goodrich 31x10.5 AT KO. They have 10/32 tred and no curb or rock scars in the side wall. Got the set for $175. I looked them up online on my way to meet him and found them for like 180 apiece new and they guy at Les Schwab checked them out and said they wer...
Installed my throttle body spacer and additional throttle cable bracket risers. Clenaed all the mud out of the engine bay. And then sat and looked at my pathetic toyo h/t's longing to get some flippin 31's!!!!
I had a similar problem of all the power windows not working from the door panels except the drivers side switch. I took off the door panel and then then switch similar to you. All i ended up having to do was clean the contact points and now everything works great, nice find though if it goes...
so i was able to measure it, but had to use the old string and ruler method then do some math. AS far as i can tell it is a 28mm front sway? should i hold off until a can use a dia cliper, or does this sound right?
So i am unable to measure my swy bar at this moment, and am having trouble figuring out the diameter of the stock front and rear sway bars on a 1997 XJ? can anyone help me out real quick?
one shock in the rear shows signs of oil leaking as well as one in the front. I realize i could do the research on this next question but like hearing you all comment so much that i will ask anywayz:) What diameter are the stock sway bars? i found a cheap set of bushings for 90-95 Cherokee...
Thanks for the advice so far. I have heard that blocks are better then aal becuase aal are murder on your remaining leafs. So yes a whole new pack would be sweet, but this will be 80% DD 15% camping 5% throwin mud and climbing hills. My biggest question ATM is shocks. I need new ones so...
So i recently bought a 97 XJ, i found some 3" rough country coils and blocks on craigslist. All the reading i have done says i wont need drop brackets, maybe just extended brake cables. Can anyone tell me what to expect from this lift. I am also looking to buy shocks, i am looking at some...
