87 21spline np231 is there a kit to make it a 23spline? like replacing the input gear?

Ok, so this is the story, I have a 96 cherokee 4.0 ho auto, it had a np242 it went out, so i went and bought a 87 np231 for $60 figure out the input splines are 21 and mine is 23. so i went and found a 2002 242j for $75 correct spline count and swapped it in and the shifter is all wrong cant...

will a 2002 cherokee 242j bolt up in place of my np242 on my 96 cherokee 4.0 ho aw4.

I have a 87 np231 and i have a 96 np242 can the input shaft be swapped into the np231 to make it 23spline?

Ok so i have a 96 4.0 HO aw4 what is the spline count on the trans output shaft. and what years of np231 has the same slpine counts.

Has anyone put 6.5" speakers in the front doors currently i have 5.25" Alpine S and i wanna run 6.5'' Alpine type R components and i am wondering if any one has installed 6.5" speakers. If you have pics are helpful to me :)
