I have already replaced the tcu. I ordered a solenoid service kit and plan on replacing them this weekend. Hopefully that fixes the problem. I did some reading and alot of people seem to have this issue when the solenoids either go out or are starting to go out. If that isnt the problem im...
The 10 amp fuse under the glove box keeps blowing out randomly. Once i put a new one in the trans will shift fine until the next time it decides to blow out. So far i have cleaned the connectors to the trans under the hood and replaced the tcu. Are there any common short areas? What else could...
Well after a few weeks the fuses has blown 3 to 4 times. Any ideas what could be causing this. Just happens randomly. Runs fine then out of nowhere fuses blows. I cleaned the connector under the hood just to make sure and it still does it.
My 89 started acting funny today. My wife drove it home from work and it was running fine. She made a stop at my moms and when she left the jeep didnt want to go at first but then got moving. She got home and i checked a few things as soon as she pulled in the driveway. The fluid was normal...
Problem solved.... fuse wasnt making good contact. Scratched the contacts with a pick and put the fuse back in. Works perfect. Thanks for the help guys. I would have never thought about checking that with a test light. One of the little contacts broke off while i was doing this. Is there an...
How many different fuses and or flashers are there? I see one fuse that is labeled brake/turn and one flasher That is at the bottom left. Is there others that im missing?
The turn signals on my 89 have stopped working. When i turn the blinkers on left or right nothing happens at all. All other lights work. Running, stop, emergencies. I have replaced all the bulbs and checked them all with a continuity tester. I believe i checked all the fusues. Is there a relay...
Thank you all for the help. I will try all the above. It seems like i have better luck with thicker material. Im going to try smaller gauge wire like .030 or .023. Talking with a couple welding shops..... it seems that even though i have a machine that is very capable for variuos material...
I had to replace the exhaust on my jeep. I setup what i could on the welding table and i was able to weld everything perfectly fine. As soon as i got under the jeep and started trying to weld overhead/upside down my welde acted like a completely different machine. All it did was heat the wire...
Is it that unlikely that i have a bad gauge? I have not pulled the cluster yet. Is there anything to look for when i do? All my other gauges work perfectly. This seem to be the only one im having trouble with. Are there any common fixes that i should try before changing the gauge? Bad contact...
I just buzzed mine in 1 inch beads rotating from side to side. I know some will argue that there are other methods to use but i had no issues doing it this way. The welds are just to help strengthen.
Well i tried the test and it seems the gauge is bad. So question is... where can i find a replacement? Ive tried searching and no luck. I really dont want to install aftermarket gauges if there is a stock replacement. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
It an 89 renix 4.0. . When i start the jeep it will get to operating temp and the gauge will just keep going till it pegs out. My wifes yj did the same thing and it ended up being a bad gauge. Its almost 30 years old. Everyone told me that the gauge being bad was really unlikely then too and i...
I think my guage in the instrument cluster is bad. Is there somewhere I can find a replacement? I'd rather not put an aftermarket screwed to the dash. What are my options? Thanks.
