    My two cents, anything with a body on frame can be beefed up, but putting a lot of weight on a unibody makes me nervous.

    I used the scan tool to verify that the switches and sensors are working. There is vacuum to to actuator under the hood. I need to get my hands on a Factory Service Manual.

    I have a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 4x4, 4.0L, A/TC. Git a little bored today and hooked a SnapOn Scan Tool. The scan tool is showing that the ECM is for a 1992 Jeep truck RWD. Could I have a Comanche ECM? If so, should I stay with it or swap it. Cruise control is INOP. I also have the dome...

    Not yet. I'm still acquiring tools for that job. I did locate a pair of axles, incase their is to much damage to the original spring perches. I'm tempted to just swap them anyway. The axles I found are off an 1997 ZJ with 4 wheel disk brakes.

    The old rims from the XJ I sold. BF Goodrich all terrain 235/75R15LTs. New rotors, calipers, wheel bearings, and balls joints on the front axle. Previous owner installed urethane bushings and tie rods. Still needs sway bar links. Need to determine the condition of the track bars on both acles...

    XJ as a tow vehicle?

    Check out etrailer.com and similar sites. Besides towing, receiver hitches can be used as a recovery point when you get stuck, or mount a winch. A front receiver hitch can be used to back a trailer.

    XJ as a tow vehicle?

    Spend the extra for a weight distributing hitch. With 6.5 inches of lift, plus larger tires. You will probably be using a draw bar with an 8 to 10 inch drop. That will put extra leverage on the unibody. I also like having the extra framing to protect the fuel tank.
