I had the rear shaft converted to a CV, at the place that did my gearing, exactly as the ebay ad shows. My Jeep was 4.5" and had no vibrations.
It cost no where near what the ebay ad wants to have the stock shaft converted.
PM's replied to and emails sent.
FWIW, I built my brackets out of 3/16" steel. I don't have a winch myself, but have used my bumper as the anchor point to be winched from and have yet to have a problem.
The cross member already has a driveline drop built into it. I modified my crossmember to lift the drive line back up to where it should be. Which also helps the 242 fit. I'm at 4.5" without a SYE and no vibes.
Having an ongoing issue where the forum will completely time out when selecting the next page of a thread or trying to open a forum etc.
I've cleared the cache and cookies and still have the issue.
I'll give it a few minutes and then the forum will respond just fine again.
Any idea's or...
Moparsupercenter.com had a MUCH better price on the upgrade kit then I got quoted on here. I bought it around Christmas though so it may have been a holiday deal, though no mention of that was ever made when talking to the parts counter guy.
That has to be the worse connection using projection of events, ever.
BINGO! How much you wanna bet the guys will now chime in and say he shouldn't carry a gun because something as simple as a phone distracting him means random thing's that could distract him on his job are going to end up in...
You guys are all relying on his statement as being 100% truth. I'm betting there's more to the story than just his phone scaring him. I'm betting he said what he did to try and avoid as much trouble with the law and insurance company as he could. Either way, it's still careless driving on...
So armed guard means he's never allowed to be spooked/scared/surprised by anything, ever? He's still human. Being spooked also had absolutely nothing to do with his carrying of a gun. He wasn't spooked and pulled the trigger uncontrollably to shoot out the window.
Had he used a tire iron...
I don't know what being scared off the road by a phone has to do with someone carrying a gun. Your correlation between him being retarded driver and shouldn't be allowed to carry a gun is a huge stretch.
He used what he had immediate access to.
I just had this same problem. Though mine would do it anytime I was backing up and hit the brakes, and I could feel the front axle slightly shift, but wouldn't do it going forward. It turned out to be worn lower control arm bushings.
Do you happen to have the size for verification? I'd like to just go poly for my bushings in my Rusty's leafs, but I don't want to pay Rusty's over inflated price for them if I don't have to and can find them elsewhere for cheaper.
They can be done both ways. But the way I see it is... its a Jeep. No need to spend the time trying to make the stock stuff work and support the current draw for the HID's. Especially when a lot of the kits out there can supply, or come with, a stand alone harness. The extra harness just uses...
Where do you guys take your caster angle readings from? When I set up my long arms on my HP30 I took the reading from the bottom of the inner C. Set them to about 5 degrees, but I have horrible wander sometimes when hitting patched ruts or following the tracks in the road. (I do contribute...
Care to elaborate on this? If he uses a proper stand alone harness for the HID's then all he's using is the stock harness to trigger the relay for the HID harness. If there were a problem with current draw or voltage drop through the stock harness then the only effect that might "bight" him...
Actually, Utah does not have a castle doctrine (unless one's been passed under my nose in the past year). We have no duty to retreat though and our state is one of the best when it comes to fire-arm friendly "laws".
