Been trying to work out the logistics of a post Thanksgiving day weekenwd at Fordyce. Not sure if your rig is set up for it. Most people say you need Front and rear lockers and 35s . I done it on 31s and open diffs with plenty help ... Stacking rocks and getting winched. I am down for a day run...

3/16" Plate, Flares are .120 box tube. . rears have 3/16" back plate and a plate that ties and boxes the 1/4 to the uni-body frame under the cut and fold . I am also adding a couple cross braces to inside the 1/4 cavity to prevent caveing in on a very hard hit. . . I know what you mean this...

yeah , with a sazall,angle grinder ,and 90 amp Flux Core ,feel like a cave man.

Nearly half finished . One side is almost done .just spot welded My flares . Question is should I fInish weld all into place and have some ugly flux core welds that I can say I did it . Or should I bring it to a welder and get some tasty fat welds for a bit more $$. I am at the point to decide...

Actually meant to type 488s . I believe thats as low as yo can go on a D30. .. Im geared to 488 and it plenty low with my set up.

Ok took the plunge and bought all my steel. Listening to some of the posts I decided to compromise aa little on the doors . Only plating the lower portions . I am also going to do a strip of 1.5"x 1/8" flatbar with a 3/4" angle pointer atached to the upper body crease . Minimal armor effect...

I went from 32s to 35s . Got a great deal on some used ones . Triming fenders is a must and bumpstops to. If you dont have gears be ready for embarassment. I was shamed into gears ,lockers ect... 35s and stock gears with open diffs will perform miserably . If you dont gear or lock you're much...
