My XJ originally came with a vac disco, but I changed the whole axle assembly out for one that had Different gears, and LSd and shafts...

Mine's on the passenger side (1989). Crappy plastic plug, 17mm I think.

I've been running one for a couple of years now and like it. Just make sure you get the new version with the shackle extensions.

I've got that Protofab Bumper myself. Great bumper and had no problems installing it. I had Mike for Protofab also install the right hand side swingout hinge so I could add on the cooler/gas can carrier at a later date.

I shot my entire XJ with Rockerguard then sprayed Endura over that.

Thanks guys, that's pretty much what I was looking for, only need to make them wider for my DD.

After searching for a couple of days (off and on) here and google, I haven't been able to find anything on tube fendered XJ's. Can I presume this is either not a good idea or just no one has done it or discussed it? I wanted to explore other options to the Bushwacker flares or Rusty's flexable...
