Sorry for bringing this one back to life, but to answer the original question, the RENIX computer system is just fine and its really not worth the extra effort to swap out for OBD-I
In regards to the current situation, you can use RENIX components on your build. Sounds like you have a 91 Head...
My 4dr was in a sort of T-Bone type of accident. The majority of the damage is to the Passenger side door. No broken glass or anything. The door is just crushed in and is difficult to open\close. Plus it doesn't close all the way due to the bow in it now.
Anyway, does anyone have a door they...
For some reason I didn't see your reply; sorry for the late response.
When I measured I used the shaft through the seal cover to mimic installation. So yes it did take into account the transfer case itself making the exposed length shorter.
As an update to this, I kind of went through a minor ordeal but have it all sorted out now.
I ended up calling Novak-Adapt with my situation and what the gentleman said on the phone rang true with what was listed on the website. Since it was a 91+ AW4 it should accept the "Medium Length" shaft...
My transmission died in my 90, and I got my hands on a 23 spline from a 91. I know I have to pull the input shaft on my 231 transfer case and swap it for a 23 spline version.
Looking at novak-adapt, it seems that before '90 they use a "short" 1.2" shaft and post '90 they used a "medium" length...
Hello all.
Wondering if anyone has come across this particular issue and found a resolution. Ive found some threads searching that are similar but it seemed no resolution was found.
What happens is that the Transmission when cold will seem to stick in 1st gear. The way I like to describe it is...
Someone reminded me that I haven't really updated this thread so here I am..
I haven't had a single issue with any of the foam I put in going on 3 years now. No leaks or anything that has concerned me. I'm curious to open it up and see how everything is holding up.. but its not causing a...
As I hate to admit it, I ended up switching to an Aluminum bottle from MAC's Radiator (they are local to me).
I didn't have an issue with caps anymore once I switched to the Volvo, but bottles started giving me headaches. I was buying new ones once a year it seemed. Because of the expansion...
I guess it doesn't really matter how many grooves you have as long as it doesn't go too far forward so that it hits something like a mech or electric fan. You can check the dimensions of the compressor to verify that it will work. I can only tell you about what I know, and the Sanden 4514 5H14...
I responded to your PM also.. but here is my response:
The listings in your PM are not valid any longer so I was unable to check them out.
I have investigated swapping pulley's and from everything I have found, its not possible. The only experience I have with compressors is just swapping the...
Just a quick update to this thread.
Using the 7 groove Compressor on my Jeep causes the belt to ride to the inside (towards the block) approx. 1/4" further than normal. A slight amount of the belt is off of a couple of the pulleys. I don't know if this is because I have a custom belt routing...
My problem ended up being an issue with a High Output alternator. At lower RPM's it just couldn't keep up.. the heat made it worse. For me, a fix was using a smaller pulley to make the alternator rotor rotate faster. No cooling needed like linked above.
I bought mine off ebay.... but you can find them anywhere. Just make sure you get it for the alternator that you are using. Since I am RENIX, I have the Delco CS130. This is not the same pulley that is used on the Delco CS130D so beware of that also.
I want to say the stock CS130 pulley is...
Since I don't have much experience with AC systems and I don't want to mess up any brand new parts, I like the piece of mind of letting a professional do it. That's a pretty standard cost for a pro. They will pull a vacuum and make sure it doesn't leak down and then fill her up. After fill up...
Total Cost of all new parts (for me) including new Pag Oil = $640
Keep in mind this is a total cost for ALL NEW parts for the AC system. Most users may want to do it the cheapest possible way which will not include replacing all the parts.
Its going to cost about another $170 dollars or so...
For an update to this, I found that the Jeep Dealer said part number 4773305 should be what I am looking for. They said I could order it from them, but it would take about 10 days to get. They said it would cost $75.
Instead I found that MAC's Radiator is local to me and they make AC hoses. I...
