Not swapping out the renix TBI.
I know the distributor and all the sensors along with the flywheel have to be swapped. I'm obviously planning on using the renix manifolds and accessories

I just picked up a shell of a beat up 4x4 4.0 5spd MJ shortbed and I can't wait to get that put back together.

89 4.0 auto/242, 207k, rust free, baked paint, dirty but complete interior in decent shape. Power everything but mirrors. No sunroof. Runs and drives, $600. Needs a water pump and a power steering leak fixed. Dash ground is bad and some light related stuff inside and out.

next, pull the vacuum line that feeds the reservoir and plug it, test drive.
definitely sounds like a vacuum leak issue, I think it would be worth getting a vacuum gauge before you waste a dime on sensors.
Anyone have the nerdy details of these sensors and how exactly they work (reed switch, hall effect, input/output voltages. frequency/pulse count for given speeds etc.
the reason I ask, I swapped an AW4 into my 2000 WJ, and I need to generate a .2v to 5v DC sweep that increases and decreases...
have your bellhousing machined/drilled so the renix sensor fits, and it absolutely MUST be in the exact same location or exactly 120* in either direction. you also gotta use the renix flywheel.

I could physically connect a TJ PCM I'll have to look at wiring and see what everything does. I'd need a 4.0L 5-speed 2000 TJ w/ ABS. Does that even exist?
