'01 XJ Won't start. New CPS and coil rail, still no spark. Any ideas?

UPDATE: I tried replacing the camshaft sensor, but it still wouldn't start. I was at my wit's end, so I finally gave up and towed my Cherokee to the repair shop. Two days and $100 later, They told me that my fuel injector fuse had blown when my camshaft sensor went bad. They replaced the fuel...

'01 XJ Won't start. New CPS and coil rail, still no spark. Any ideas?

Summary: ---------- I have a 4 door, 2001 Cherokee Sport XJ 4x4 with 145,000 miles that I have been using for a daily driver. Out of the blue one day, it ran rough then died. Now it will not start. The engine turns over but won't fire. I have tried replacing the Crankshaft Position Sensor, the...

'01 Motor blown. Which year to replace it with?

I have a 2001 XJ with 120k miles. It is in great shape and is my daily driver. Sadly, apparently a head gasket leaked and now my motor is seized. The local mechanic said it will probably be cheaper just to replace the whole motor. I'm not real crazy about the spark plug coil packs that my...

Mechanic says noise from D35 rear end = locker going bad? ...Opinions?

Bummer... I just called all the local junk yards, and the best deal I could find for a Chry 8.25 rear axle was $300 for one from a 1999 XJ with 92k miles on it. That seems kinda high, what do you guys think?

Mechanic says noise from D35 rear end = locker going bad? ...Opinions?

No, but I noticed the noises shortly after pulling a heavy u-haul across several states. Now that I think about it though, I was short on time, so I took it to a wal-mart for an oil-change and lube check right before I left with the u-haul. The receipt doesn't say that they changed the rear...

Mechanic says noise from D35 rear end = locker going bad? ...Opinions?

Well, I guess I just answered my own question... I found this post on another website: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/how-do-i-tell-if-my-differential-limited-slip-1090082/ And.. Check out the sticker I found inside my glove box!... I guess I DO have a Limited Slip in my D35...

I always assumed it wasn't... How could I tell for sure if it is or not?

Mechanic says noise from D35 rear end = locker going bad? ...Opinions?

Forgive the newbe question, but I'm a little confused? I do not have the "True Trac" model, so do you mean it might have something like a detroit locker in the rear?

I have a 2001 XJ Sport 4x4 that came straight from a Govt auction (US Forest Service - Oregon). It has 100k miles and is all stock except for some fender trimming and 31" tires, which I put on last year (~10k miles ago). I recently started getting a bad "rubbing" noise from my rear end (Dana...

How to make my rig look less soccer mom like...

They are MB Chaos rims (wheels), 15x8. I bought them new last spring from Discount Tire for around $100 each.

How to make my rig look less soccer mom like...

Interesting comment from a guy who has a large spare tire on his luggage rack. Looks like just a nylon strap holding it there, too... Don't tell me you never drove down a public road with that tire up there...

How to make my rig look less soccer mom like...

Mud tires make a big difference. My 2001 XJ doesn't have any lift, but I think it looks pretty good for a daily driver.. Here's the three biggest things I've done to mine. 1) - Trimmed fenders and installed Bushwacker Flat Fender Flares. This allowed me to fit larger tires without needing...

Need help: Snow accident, now steering/alignment problem..

By the way, here's a pic of my Cherokee. (2001 4wd Sport, Bushwacker flat fender flares, 31" mud tires, up-country package, no lift) http://oi40.tinypic.com/2h871u0.jpg

Need help: Snow accident, now steering/alignment problem..

Thanks for your replies. Phil: The mechanic said he couldn't see anything that was obviously bent... the tie-rods have several bends in them from the factory, so it's be tough to tell if one of them was off by just looking at it... old_man: The tire shop I went to tried rotating my tires...
