    brake lights dont work?????please help

I could be wrong but I don't think that the upper switch with the vac line is for the brake lights. It's a vac dump for the cruise and the wires are for the tc disconnect. If you have an auto.. The lower switch, the one mounted on the brake arm and against the rod, is the one you probably need.

    Front end clunk

Take a look at your steering gearbox, shock mounts, u-joints (axel and driveshaft), track bar. Gearboxes have been known to get loose and sometimes the bolt hole in the body for the track bar will get out of round.

    welding axel

All done! Every thing seems OK on the brief road trial. I only use it on low speed trips around home and the mountian. I've only got ramps at home, didn't think it would be so awkward to get at with a shield on! Snow melt dripping, laying on ones back, good way to get shocked. Ha Ha Tacked on...

    brake lights dont work?????please help

Is yours an auto.? My 90 4.0 l. auto. with cruise has two different swiches. The lower is for the brake lights and I don't think that it's wiring has anything to do with the cruise system. The upper one with the vac line is the cruise disconnect and I believe it's wiring is the torque converter...

    welding axel

Was having lots of problems with my disco D30 axel, vac.motor, lines ect. So I shimmed the fork over to lock it in full time. This worked fine for awhile. The other day something snapped, and when I took it apart to see, a peice of the fork body had broke.(where the shaft goes through) I would...

    2.8 (P.O.S.) questions NEED HELP

Not saying that the 2.8 was a great engine or anything like that, but I'm surprised that you guys went though so many of them. I never did any insane wheeling or bogging with mine but there were lots of miles crawling through the woods and deep snow, trapping, hunting, fishing ect., and I had...

    2.8 (P.O.S.) questions NEED HELP

The GM 2.8 V-6 used in 84-86 XJ's is a traditional front to back layout. All the frontwheel drive engines that I have seen were transversal designs. Anything can be made to work, given enough time and money, and a well equipped machine shop!, but I don't think that this route will be worth it...

    Fuel pump prob.

The relay was fine, I switched it with the one for the powerlocks. It worked fine and the one for the pump worked for the locks. I tried jumping across the terminals but that didn't work. Anyway, there is power at the two proper terminals. Can't remember the numbers for sure, there marked down...

    Fuel pump prob.

Hi all! Still needing help. Nobody has any ideas? Rev Den, you posted back in March that XJ's have an inertial shut off switch behind the passengers kick panel on 1990. I can't find it. Is it easy to see with the panel removed? Mine is a 1990 Canadian model. Maybe the Can. rigs didn't have one...

    Fuel pump prob.

Was plowing snow yesterday when the rig quit. Has been running great all along. Noticed that the fuel pump wasn't running. Checked for voltage at the plug near the tank, nothing. Searched on here, (since this is the only good place to go), and found info on the pump relay and the resistor...
