I consider 10k a good compromise.
It's what I've been doing on my Jeeps for the past 15-20 years when running heavy duty diesel oil. Mobil Delvac 1 5w-40, Shell T6 5w-40, Shell T6 Multi-Vehicle 5w-30, ...
My current go-to is the T6 Multi-Vehicle 5w-30 readily available from NAPA.
Rubber hoses deteriorate from the inside out. The dealer replacement works just fine. If you vacuum fill the cooling system then the spring in the lower radiator hose just makes it that much easier.
I have both repaired and replaced using the above method and part number. I've used clear plastic line readily available from the hardware store to join the tubes back together and hold them in place.
These lines get very hard and brittle over time. Once you have a new one in your hands you...
Hoses can deteriorate from the inside out.
Technically you are supposed to replace the spring clamps when you change the hoses because as the spring clamps age they may not have as much tension on them.
I buy the NTK O2 sensors from NAPA, but prefer the dealer hoses, clamps, and radiators.
Heat and age destroy the rubber compound of the mounts. They sag down.
They can also tear or separate.
On dealer mounts, when they are new, you cannot stick your pinky between the upper metal part of the mount and the rubber compound. After 10-15 years and lots of miles, you sure can. I'd...
I use the NTK O2 sensors from NAPA.
I have purchased many genuine Mopar parts but O2 sensors hasn't been one of them.
OEM does NOT mean Mopar or dealer part.
OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer.
The idea is that if you get the OEM version its probably closer or maybe even the same as...
Is there preload on the pinion bearings and carrier bearings?
Turn the ring gear with a wrench to make the pattern.
Looks like it needs to be deeper but first make sure there is preload.
I had this problem and it was carbon on the valves. If you have the original head, you are best to just replace the head with a 0331 TUPY or one from Clearwater. It is unlikely to be an electrical/electronic sensor problem, but rather a mechanical problem. Mine did it intermittently between...
One of my XJ's is a 1997 Up Country that came with factory fog lights. At some point the factory fog light switch was bypassed so they operate in the behavior you describe - on with low beams & go off with high beams. There is a relay under the hood that controls this behavior. The switch was...
Forget about the 75 ft-lbs in the FSM. Tighten them until they stop moving as you increase torque. May not happen until 125-150 or so. That's fine. The pinion depths slightly too deep. Removing a few thous may make a better pattern.
