    window problems

Same problem on my 2000 limited. when they get stuck "up" it is a hastle, but when they get stuck "down" it can be a problem. I have had both happen to me. Mine almost always work when it is very humid or raining which leads me to think it has something to do with connections.

    11 miles per gallon

No duh. For this discussion, though, increased MPG was presented as the only reason to regear. I am sure the "know it alls" on this board will soon point out the myriad of reasons to regear. It makes no ecomonic sense to regear for the sole purpose to increase MPG and to "save money"...

    11 miles per gallon

It will take a lot of miles at higher MPG to offset the cost of re-gearing. I suggest you determine how much money you will save in fuel by regearing. The lower MPG and subsequent higher total fuel cost of your current setup may be less expensive than regearing.

    Effect of tires on mileage?

Are your tires properly inflated? I inflate my tires to 35 psi for all on road driving. I check them regularly. 35 PSI makes for a firm ride, but the experts say it helps my mileage.

    roof rack max weight?

If you haven't sailed, the sunfish is a great boat to learn on. With a little experience you can tackle some great water and have a ton of fun. I have "surfed" a sunfish on the beaches in the Caribbean and the great lakes. The formula for fast sunfish sailing = broad reach + 15 knot wind +...

    down sizing tires

If you are able to buy wheels and tires for $500 then it would take you approx 1,000 gallons of gas to break even assuming gas stays at $2.49 per gallon and you increase your MPG by 4.

    down sizing tires

I can feel your pain. I had on my Jeep for about 1 week 245/70/R16 tires. In my opinion they represented a significant downgrade in performance. I use my Jeep to drive to work and back only. The mpg was much worse over my stock 225s. I negotiated to have the stock size tire put on at no...

    Remove splash guard under engine?

Mine tore through also and was just hanging down. It looked really bad. I re-attached using nylon tie straps. I punched new holes using an awl and fed the tie straps through the holes I made. The fix took about 10 minutes. Save your money on the new splash guard and spend the pennies on...

    De-thefting a '98 XJ

My wife drove a 1997 Pathfinder. She was attending graduate school in down town Cincinnait (Xavior). A bunch of cars were broken into where she parks. My wife left her purse and wallet in open view on the seats. Her car was not broken into but all around her were. The car had an alarm with...
