Well, I was refering to people who plate their subframes, now thats extra weight that doesnt need to be there, and over time from what Ive seen ( my opinion ) the floor tends to try to pull away from the reinforced framerails.
And, yes my Exo does help with frame issues, because its all...
It not very hard to Triangulate the front end, ( I dont run a track bar ) You can simply leave the UCL axle mounts just to the side of the oil pan ( so they dont hit the pan )and move your subframe side mounts to the out side of the subframe you easily get 40 degrees and luckly for me I had a...
Well ya exo = more weight, but I have very little roof, no rear half at all but the floor and no doors or glass, and I chopped 16" off of the rear floor and subframe, get the idea :D I left the rest of the floor because you have to have frame to the center line of the rear axle to run in...
Iam talking about the angle your trac-bar is at. Think about it when you compress your front end It has to move to the passanger side! your trac-bar is going to push it that way, and the more angle on your trac-bar the farther its going to try to push it over. Same way when it extends it moves...
Looks good the only thing Id question is how steep of an angle your trac-bar is at. Whille you flex you front end is going to move all over the place! The only way to stop this is to have a flat trac-bar, Ya I know no way, but the farther away from flat you get, the more the front end walks...
Ya, your hoops are going to need to be beefed up! I just finished beefing my unibody were my front springs sit, I bent the spring cups 3" forward.
Thats also alot of up travel, to be staying stable? I have 5" of up travel and would really like to be about 4"
Iam running Bilstien 9100 in...
Remember if you cahnge the chain you need to change the drive gears, they wear as much as the chain, and if you dont the new chain wont last!
You can pull a chain and gears from a 241 and they are a wider set!
Gates open at 10:00am. You should be fine there is stuff to do, no matter what size tires you run. $10.00 to get in I belive? My 38.5 SX's are low on tread hope Ill be ok
I just put a propane kit on a CJ-5. We used a forklift tank almost everyone does. One tank equalls about 10 gallons of gas.
There are some benifits of swaping to propane even if you are fuel injected, you dont need any sensors, in other words no sensors to go bad, and propane will make more...
They are a press fit! They take something like 30 tons of pressure to put in, They are made this way to fit tight into the bracket and keep the rubber in the sleeve. I didnt know this at first either, and ground on them a little so they would press in with a ball joint press and about a year...
It does tie through the inside, its "X'ed" behind the seats that goes through the floor and ties in between the subframe rails, this is also where my rear UCA's mount up. Iam sure its because I just beat the hell out of mine. I run quite a few rock and trail comps. Iam sure for weekend wheeling...
I took mine off and wheeled it for a whille like that and there was no way they were ever going to fit again! I guess it just depends on how hard you wheel your rig. when I get twisted up and under a serious load I can feel the floor twist up, and watch the t-case shifter move, even with a full...
just grind on the cast and grind on the mount to make it fit then just mig weld the bracket to the cast. you just have to preheat the cast before you weld it. Its really pretty simple. I weld UCL brackets to cast housings all the time, never had one break off yet.
