THe NAC Lots-O-BFG KO2 Thread

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread aka North America Home Owners Association Thread

I got my jeep on all 4's yesterday finally. Just need to bleed the brakes, make some bumpstops for the front, seat, and some wiring for the fans and it should be ready to destroy. Long time coming.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread aka North America Home Owners Association Thread

starting to look like i should be taking my truck to ohio for thanksgiving. people are starting to call for a major snowstorm for interior PA just as i'll be driving through it wednesday. no word on the storm for saturday yet either... :soapbox:

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread aka North America Home Owners Association Thread

Anyone have a trailer available post snow storm that can help me drag my truck to the scrap yard? I can pay for fuel and Pitstop.

What day? With drivetrain in it and all that?

Not sure my wanna-be 10k trailer will handle it. It looked miserable with T-pains truck on it.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread aka North America Home Owners Association Thread

Got both doors hung in the hallway and one of them painted/finished up. I'm far from a pro at hanging doors.

Probably won't get too much more done before Thanksgiving since I'm working 10 hour days Mon-Wed. Hopefully finish up the hallway during the break though.

Why I asked about Johnny's. Mine wasn't loving life either with yours on it.
I've had more weight on it but it is different when you can load it all evenly and not all front or rear heavy.

Got sick of that clutter along the west wall of my garage (to the left as coming in the front doors). Said screw it and I'm finishing that section with cabinets, shelves, etc.

Not as long as some.
Break in run is when?

Sheep, I don't know what your schedule is but if you can help it, don't be in a rush.

My current landlord is selling the house that I am in now and we are tenets at will and we want a place before we get a new landlord

It is rushed which I am not a fan of but I want to do everything correct whet we find a place to triple check that it's what we want before even doing the home inspection

10 houses in a day is a lot.
How will you remember which ones had carpets that matched the drapes?

Seriously though, good luck.

Shovel?
Isn't PA supposed to be the area hit? I thought we were only getting like 3"?

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread aka North America Home Owners Association Thread

nah, you are probably getting a little more, close to 6". still too early to tell for sure.
Lame.
With the ground this soft it'll be a mess.

I was hoping for 2-3" and then really cold to freeze stuff up.
After that I wouldn't care if we got 4'.

Re: THe NAC Lots-O-Post Thread aka North America Home Owners Association Thread

Hey Bill. Insulation for garage ceiling; R30 like a standard attic or less if I'm only trying to keep it 50-60 degrees max?

Garage furnace is 90,000 BTU forced hot air, it's overkill.

Looks like I'm taking tomorrow off to go source ~760 sq. ft. of metal ceiling material and the same of insulation...I'm going to try and finish off this garage shit over the long weekend.

There was a PVC ceiling material I wanted to use called Ag-Tuf, but was only available through commercial distribution, so I used my dad's contracting company to get it quoted through the only distributor they have in NJ. Except, the distributor had never heard of that particular product from that manufacturer and didn't know what it was, or how to get it.

Frustrating that the stuff is made less than 2 hours from here in PA, I'd pick it up at the damn factory if it came down to it, but I can't find anyone who actually wants to sell the stuff.

I'd do as much as you can. I have R38 in my ceiling and R21 in the walls.
Mine stays pretty decent without heat. Last year when we had those below zero temps for the week or so it never got below 30 in my garage. Of course how long you leave the doors open has a bigger effect on it.

90k probably isn't overkill if you want a decent recovery time after you open the doors in the winter.

Edit: Just checked, R38 is on sale at my local HomeDepot for cheaper than R30. Go figure.
