Colorado B/S Thread

Re: The Colorado BS thread

I don't think I have it any more. I know Troy does. He'll be all..."I know right? Why would I save THAT picture of some stupid van?" He's got it though. Where the hell is Steve? He's probably got a copy on his night stand.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

That pic is supposed to be here:

What's up with the sci-fi fantasy thing linked in its place now? ..... Weirdo.

Yeah that is weird. Also weird that you happen to have control over all things moderation and could have pulled the switcheroo in an effort to try and throw off everyone. Smooth move on going for a Sci-Fi picture. I'm sure fewer would suspect and question your involvement. This is sad. A trusted member of law enforcement and you can't even divulge your true feelings with Volkswagen automobiles to the rest of us here. I demand a formal investigation. Who do I need to speak with?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Nice try fish-boy...... Right click the pic and look at "properties"..... I'm not hosting that pic so I can't be pulling any tricks sparky.....

Re: The Colorado BS thread

This is probly a real stupid question but I can't rationalize and answer for it in my head. There's a dude on craigs with a set of pacer d windows only catch is, one set it 15x8 and one set is 15x7.. How's that going to work out? Will they be offset from each other or will they have the same track width still? Front to back? I know it's ghetto but for 80 bucks it seems like a decent deal. Figure I can swap someone one pair for the opposite at some point. Or would something about this be ill advised?

/edit

I guess I figured it out. They're probably the same offset (I would imagine, that would break the deal if they weren't, unless it was the .5" offset required to have the same track width) I suppose if they were identical offsets then there would be a .5" difference from front to back, right? Not even a noticeable difference so throw the 7"s on the front to cut down on steering weight and throw the 8"s in the back?

Re: The Colorado BS thread

By "offset" do you mean back spacing?

Why would you want to do this? Just be patient..... Wheels popup on craigs or colorado4x4.com all the time.

Backspacing, yessir.

No reason. Just a good deal on some real lightly used wheels.. and I'm hoping to have them on the Jeep before Wednesday. I'm off to Moab.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Will change a lot about how the back acts compared to the front. tire pressures, tire wear, and even drivability will change. over an inch? yep...
Id wait.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Got to see Mr. Jacobs today randomly at a car meet. Saw a newer (13) mustang and it had the drag radials in the rear and just had that "I belong to Jacobs" sort of look to it if that makes sense. Definitely a pretty car and cool running into him at a meet full of some really doucher people and cars.

Although (and don't be mad I didn't get pics) there was a gorgeous murdered out mid 60's continental. oh man. so pretty.

That's a good point.

Wearing tires unevenly for 700 miles might be bad. In speaking of; I should probably have an alignment done since I did the hubs before Moab

add that to the list.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Unit bearing replacement isn't going to affect alignment.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Jacobs in a '13 Mustang huh? Wonder what the low down was with the troubles he was having with his previous Mustang..... Clearly he moved on.....

Re: The Colorado BS thread

It got smashed in the rear and totaled he said. New one is auto, upgraded package, has the better looking rear, and hasn't been wheeled in penrose lol. It is a super clean car.

Do tell!!!

My neighbor bought a "new" Dodge truck last year, paid for an extended warranty. It has 80,000 miles now. It has been in the shop off and on all winter, because it keeps setting the check engine light. Hwe says he has put 10K on rentals while his truck sits at the dealership. He really likes the new Suburban (?), and the F-150 ECO Boost wasn't too bad...

Yeah but who knows when the last time it was aligned was.. I bought it in July with pretty trashed hubs. I can only imagine it was at least slightly out.

Either way. Some peace of mind that I'm not going to be scrubbing $250+/ea tires for over 700 miles here in a few days.

Plus I think I'll be able to talk the boys at my old Big O into doing it on the cheap for me..

I won't let them near the BMW. But I figure a jeep shouldn't be bad.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

Whatcha gonna do with that Caiman/Allegator Dwarf when he gets 3' - 4' long?

Bitchin' habitat setup though........

As a teen, I had a mating pair of Basilisk lizards. Used to take the youngsters and sell 'em at a pet store near by.

Re: The Colorado BS thread

How many times did I tell you that we should go into the Vanagon business? My god. That was a gravy train with biscuit wheels. Swallow your pride man. We could make a fortune on the coolant lines alone. Where is that picture of you in my Van grinnin' like a opossum eatin' shit?
Speaking of which, what's worth money off a 93 VW van w/ AWD? Found one in a local yard I just discovered Friday. It was strange as hell, never been there, first time out I find a porsche 944, two 12 valve cummins trucks, like a dozen wranglers mostly untouched, a 93 AWD VW van, an fj80 with immaculate straight axles in it, two! grand wagoneers (one restorable, one parts only), a couple early 80s and late 70s hiluxes, a row of old merc diesels... felt like a visit to heaven. Every time I came around a corner I found something else sitting there that's normally rare as hell in the you-pull.
