It's not a CCW type gun just something I've had my eye on for a while and really want. Once the commission checks from the new job hits it will get the canyon creek trigger and a few other upgrades.

So the kid scared the hell out of me tonight at dinner. He started choking on a piece of shrimp. He could still breath a little, but it was really restricted. He got a little red in the face and I flew out of my seat. I picked him out of his chair and flipped him face down to pat his back till the piece came up and he yacked a little.

It all seemed to happen fast but be in slow-mo at the same time. I did everything that I remembered from whatever class I took told me about choking babies. It almost seemed like I knew what I was doing. But when all the bullshit cleared up and he was alright, I lost it.

It seriously scared me to the point of tears, only after the situation was dealt with. I mean, shit. That's my kid. Thank God everything came out alright.

wow. i dont have a child, but i can see how that would scare a man so much. happy to hear your swift action worked as intended.

very fortunate.

I have kids but haven't had to deal with choking, I think id flip, I've only had to deal with stitches, etc. I think physical injuries are easier to deal with cause you can see it

Damn dude, glad to hear all is well. Way to be on top of that, I'm pretty sure i'd lose it after something like that too.

Losing it after the fact is okay. Keeping your cool during the incident is the more important thing.

wait until your daughter has her stomach swell for 9 months and there's not a damn thing you can do about it.

that is scary.

:D

seriously though, I've dealt with my daughters when they were choking as infants and it is a very very scary thing.

My favorite part about rew having a week off is watching how much his lazy ass partner has to work. lolololoololol

this is fantastic rew!

I feel ya josh! My son fell and hit his mouth on the coffee table and the blood started flowing. This was when he was maybe two. All I could think was broken teeth and stitches but I held it together until I realized it was just a split lip that healed on its own just fine. After I go the bleeding to stop and got Ryan calm and realized he was ok all I could do was hug him. That dad protective nature sure shows when you are a good dad. I don't understand how parents can just not care about their kids.

My 4 year old slammed into another 4 year old on the trampoline at a friends house saturday night and I told him to suck it up :D

I have responded to a few incidents over the years that have really scared me. You can tell the difference between the attention cry and the I'm really screwed up cry.

The second one gets a lot less attention than the first one. You learn not to overreact to things that don't really endanger them.

Not a parent...yet...

But been raising other peoples kids for over 10 years...

mac 'see if i can screw up my own' gyvr

Where from, Nate? my buddy just bought an SKS and needs some ammo.
