My brother-in-law has a xj dana 44 for sale (3.55 gears & stock trac-lock limited slip)complete for $400 in Sacramento, CA. It is out of a 87' xj limited with 110K miles. I had it pulled from a salvage yard in Sac about 6 months ago, but my brother-in-law, Nate, bought the ford 9" from Lee, so this 1 has to go. Let me know.
thanks...Troy

Yeah, I wasn't sure if that was you. How are you bud? Yeah, I still have the dana 44 and it is in good shape. Do you want it? Let me know when you're up here in Sac. My cell# is (916)396-8841. I had alot of fun with you and your group on the Con, we have to do it again, or a good snow run soon. Did Bryce ever check out NAXJA yet? Is is tranny holding up?

Jeff

I live in Citrus Heights which is about 12 miles or so NE of downtown Sac between I-80 & I-50. The dana 44 is at my bros house in Rancho Cordova off of hwy 50. It is a very good unit, I saw that Lee was selling his 9" with a spool and 4.88 gears to bolt into the xj, so I convinced my bro to buy it and now we have the xj dana 44 for sale.

I might do Winter Fun Fest, but I hate to pay for wheeling when you can do it for free, well you need to pay for gas I guess. :D I like the Bowman Lake trail/Malkoff Diggins in the winter. I ran it twice last winter. It's alot of fun, free, and fairly easy to get to off of hwy 49 outside of Nevada City. I'd love to go with you and your group again when you want to and are out this way, let me know. I'll also let you know if I go.

Winter doesn't have to be the end of wheeling, just another form of it. I want to get a Hollister Hills OHV park run soon when it is nice and muddy after we get some steady rain. Have you ever been there? I was there once, it is nice, but not worth going to in the summer when the Con and Fordyce are a little over an hour from me. Maybe I could talk the wife into doing it and then take her to Monterey, we did this last time and had a good time. I wheeled Sat/Sunday morning and then headed to Monterey for the rest of the day. Nice trip. Call me up this weekend, what time do you think you will be up her in Sac?

I would be interested if he isnt, how much are you thinking of sellin for?

I sold the 1 I had to the guy who came down from Bakersfield. I saw 1 at a salvage yard in Antelope, where I got this axle from. I knew Maximus on this site has/had 1 for cheap in Las Vegas.

i called around today lookin for a rear axle....one place wanted $700 for a D44 another place wanted $1000 for a D44 and another place wanted $750 for an 8.8 with a higher gear ratio than 4.10 something like 3.23...

OBSCENE!!!!!

Go over to James Autowreckers off of Antelope rd in Antelope next to J&W Jeep yard and get that dana 44 that laying around. You could probably get it for $250 if you play Brad right over there. I got a very low mileage unit for $300 for my brother-in-law. It's in the right front yard when you come into the yard under a red burgandy xj. I've seen it for a year now there on 3 occasions and had to pinch myself to believe what I was seeing. :laugh3:
If it's gone, Maximus (Rob) who just moved to Las Vegas had 1 for a good cheap price. Hope this helps. Cannot get easier than a dana 44 that bolts in.

Yeah, J&W next door to James wants like $750-1000 or so for the same axle you can get 200 yrds from them for $250-300. I'm trying to hook all you guys up. :laugh3:

J W Jeep yard is a joke. Called them about an NP231 21 spline with over 150000 miles just to see and he said 700 bucks. After the coffee stopped spraying out of my nose, I started laughing and asked if he was serious. He said yes. I then asked him if he smoked crack and he hung up.
Sorry for the side note.

They are a joke. It's a shame because they have so many jeeps and you can walk the yard and find stuff you can use and then you inquire about the price and could buy the item for much less new than they want used. Those guys are smoking the good stuff I think. :greensmok

yep...JW wanted 1000 for a D44. i have gotten other shit there but im getting tired of their insane prices. might have to stop by that other place near jw to check it out.

gsmith in Shingle Springs grabbed that 1 at James for $250 this last weekend. Ask Maximus (Rob) on this site if he still has his. He moved to Las Vegas about a month ago, but I know he had 1. You have to really get them quick when you see them, because they go quick, especially here in Cali.

I hope you get it man.

I saw the 2 87' xj's at pnp in Rancho this weekend with the missing dana 44's, good find to whoever got them. Do you still have 1 or both for resale?
