xj and yj trannys the same?

nope, the yj one is a 3 speed and the xj is a 4 spd computer controlled

Of course that doesn't neceddarily mean you can't put the YJ tranny in there.

What's your tranny problem? Most of the common issues are not mechanical, but rather electrical and fairly easy to fix.

Yeah, as lawsoncl says they are pretty bulletproof. Unless you break the case or your flexplate disintegrates they are hard to break. Most stuff is pretty easy to diagnose too.

its in my woods beater hit a rock smashed the case i have another one in a cherokee but saving it incase i need it for my good jeep. can get the yj one for nothing but i was hoping they were the same
