WTB: winch

I found a cheap one from 4wp for $300 model # 97281 which is a 8000 smittybilt.I read the reviews and they all seem good but I hate to go cheap and have it fail when I need it thd most.I will let you know if I pass on one.

only bad things i have heard about smittybuilt is there really slow i saw a vr8k on truckaddons.com they are having a big sale may be worth checking out let me know what u go with

I found my rough country 9500lbs. winch for $299. I then got their 10% off Jeepforum memeber discount which put it at $270+-. I ran it on my XJ and have used it numerous times on the trail and doing landscaping and it has performed flawlessly. The only thing I don't like about it is that the line speed is quite a bit slower then the line speed of the Warn 9000 I had on my TJ. Overall, great winch so far for a fantastic price. Here's the link.

My dad has 2 Warn winches in the shed that he keeps saying he is going to fix but never does.

One is a M10,000 that has the case cracked on one side.

The other is an Old school 8274 that needs a new solenoid pack.

Give me an offer and I'll let him know to see if he wants to Finnaly get rid of them!

I love my Smittybilt XRC10. I got it for $400 at winchdepot.com with free shipping. Engo recently did fairy well in a test at Four Wheeler, 9000lbs, something like $329.
